I thought it was delayed to add multiplayer, er .. I mean appeal to a wider audience?

They've confirmed there's no multiplayer...days ago.

That aside, I think they delayed it mostly because they were running out of time. With everything that still hasn't been finished, reviewed, and polished, I believe they delayed to keep from doing a rush job and screwing up. Though as some have pointed out, EA releasing other big games may have something to do with it as well.

The only competition for GOTY is Bioshock infinate.

Fable: The Journey looks to be the GOTY winner to me...

Other than that Diablo 3 (maybe), Prey 2, Prototype 2 and the inevitable COD 9 could win GOTY as well.

Good luck with a Kinect game winning GOTY, The Media, (the Media that give theses awards) have grown tired of COD, while I personally love Prototype the media hated it and even if it leap and bounds better then pt 1 they'll probably dismiss it, Diablo may beat it, but i you ask me we've all been playing Diablo 3 for the past decade all those (Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Xmen games).

Because I saw another topic just sorta like this....
everytime someone does... Bioware holds a team lead meeting and votes to delay the release
by how many topics there are for asking why or complaining about release date ... ME 2789 will have been announced....

Edit By the way this is a Joke if you couldn't tell

Who cares, it's delayed.

That means they'll put more work into ME3.

That's not neccisarily true. It can take up to a few months after a game has gone gold to get it distributed.

I remember Prototype being well-recieved.

It was delayed because we felt we needed more time to deliver a quality product... that's all.

I have no problem with delays.

It's the rush-jobs that I can't stomach. (DA2)

Not that we would ever insinuate BioWare rushed a game..(DA2)

-cough-

DA2 wasn't rushed. It was just mediocre

Rushed games have bugs and tons of cut content. DA2 just didn't have a lot of content to begin with

Unless you have a double-sized team like AssCreed games have, 1 year and a few months for the developement of an AAA game = rush, always.

Starting November 11, I'm going to be in a land known as Skyrim. For about 400 hours.

^^^ one reason

Some games only take a few months to make. It depends on how much content is planned. In DA2s case, not a lot of content of planned

Similarly, I'll be buried in Deus Ex for about 50 hours (multiple playthroughts), BF3 for about 30 hours (MP mostly), Assassin's Creed for about 30 hours (multiple playthroughs), Gears of War 3 for about 20 hours, Uncharted 3 for about 40 hours, maybe Skyrim if I can spare the time, for 200 hours tops..., etc etc.

This is gonna be an excellent year for gaming.

Well obviously if they knew how short deadline they had it would be unwise to plan tons of it. Still, content is easier to produce than good gaming systems and mechanics. These need the most time for polish. It's just uncommon for a blockbuster game these days to be rushed like that.

Now we know it's useless speculating about why BioWare delayed ME3, I always suspected it was for delivering a better product but I'm biased.

Hope it is for the best. ME 1 was something new a nice. ME 2 in my opinion was worst and it had been in development for about 2 years. I hope that ME 3 will be more like ME 1 than ME 2.

So good luck.

PS: You see ? They want to provide better game. They don't want it to end like DA II.

If it is, then BW/EA has no love for they're game. A lot of people love ME. I myself don't even plan to touch Skyrim.

I mean, they don't believe in they're games like we fans do.

I honestly am not sure whether the actual reasoning for the delay was the game needed time or for marketing. But it likely dosn't matter as even if it was delayed for marketing purposes they'll probably work on it longer as a result.
