My Hawke rejected Anders and I - and in this case, my Hawke by extension - had a 'Pfeww, glad I got away from that' feeling. Merrill felt like the occasionally endearing, but mostly annoyingly foolish younger sister I wanted to whack with a frying pan.:innocent:

I prefer Anders(friendly), because the dialog is more different from just being friends than Merrills is. But i suppose it comes down to (with the friend romances at least), do you like to protect or be protected in terms of being the most romantic.

Rival Merrill. With tough love, you can steer her on the right path. Watching her break the mirror is the most satisfying scene in the game for me.

With Anders, no matter what you do he's going to blow up the chantry which I can never forgive him for and have to stab him in the neck for it.

Hardly true. Merill has tons of fans who hate Anders passionately

I do hate him, but the passion has left that relationship.

I'd much prefer Merril as a character. I admit to having had higher expectations than she lived up to, but she was still quite interesting and cool. Anders was a crazy terrorist, who was never even remotely useful to me except for the one playthrough I wanted Bethany to be a Grey Warden. So its Merrill all the way..

I really enjoyed doing both the Merril and Isabella friend romances at the same time  ohhh bug how i love thee.I love both these girls and could never do the rivalmance with either of them way too mean for me.

I tried Anders Romance but  couldn't do it knowing what he does in Act 3 so i passed on him.If only he was Anders from dragon age awakening.
