So Connor, what's it like being possessed by a hot, sexy demon?
I mean wow! She could give Cleopartra from Dante's Inferno a run for her money!

But seriously, I saved Jowan but kept him in the cell and had the conversation with Lady Isolde over how her favorite play was THE EXORSIST and the Maker appears to have a sick sense of humor. Alistair, Morrigan & Sten are in the party. Connor ran away scared to his room and I was given the option of killing him or performing blood magic using Isolde as a sacrifice and confront the demon directly, Morrigan gets a heroic moment. I asked for any other options and Jowan essentialy told me to go do the Broken Circle quest so that I can use other mages & lyrium.

At first I declined saying that it would take too much time but then requested more time to decide. Now I am free to go anywhere including completing the Broken Circle quest. If I do it, can I take the help of the mages and save both Connor and his mother or am I screwed because I declined the third option. I did get it though. Alistair said to get help from the mages but I said, "NO THAT WILL TAKE TOO MUCH TIME"

So, I am currently standing infront of the Templar at the Lake Callanhad docks deciding wether or not to give him a plate of cookies (Thank You Sten!) so I can pass.

Trust me... you have plenty of time. Just be careful who you side with once you are inside the Tower.

As far as the game mechanics are concerned, you have plenty of time. You can do all the other quests the game has to offer and Connor will wait.

A lot of players agree it's rather silly. I would have preferred it if the game did take that choice seriously and have Connor massacre everyone else in Redcliffe (except Eamon with his Plot Armour, and Teagan because rrowr) while the Warden decided to sidetrip to wherever. Consequences and all. Some people roleplay that they leave half their party at Redcliffe to guard against Connor while the rest go with the PC to the Circle Tower, which feels sensible to me.

I was like you in my first game. I picked 'We don't have time' and sent Morrigan in, then after Alistair's tirade (after he'd agreed there wasn't enough time o_O) loaded a save to see if you could sidetrack to the Circle without Connor rampaging. After that I took my sweet time. :P

This.

Except the first time I played I'd already done the Broken Circle. It still doesn't make sense to leave Redcliffe though. Isolde pretty much tells you that he may be gearing up for an attack at any time. So now, I just kill Isolde because my character doesn't know if Redcliffe has two days. Not to mention everyone's death in Redcliffe can be blamed on Isolde, so it's a kind of justice.

Kill Him, Do the Blood Magic Ritual, or Do the Ritual with Lyrium and experinced Mages. Thats your choices and you have have plenty of time.

Though your actions in the circle tower can remove your ability to perform the latter.

Though if you find the Desire demons to your taste. If your a mage and do either Ritual yourself you get the option to bargain with the demon (And unlock Blood Mage) and one of the bargains is to have sex with the demon.

Note to self: 2nd Playthrough. Horndog the Mage, he has sexual relations with everything

Anysway, thannk you everyone for the help. I actually did send Morrigan in because my City Elf is a bit cynical and believes that the punishment should fit the crime. She sacrifices herself in repayment for being indirectly responsible for the Redcliffe massacre. She even admits guilt but then I decided to go to the Circle of Mages because I wanted to romance Alistair but he gets really angry and can loose a ton of approval as if it were all my fault.

I think it was wrong of Bioware to give you the 3rd option regardless of doing the Mages quest. There is no way to know wether or not Connor will go on a rampage and burn the castle, village and the people to the ground. You shouldn't be able just leave like that. Time if of the essence and kill the mother or child would have been hell of a Light Grey Vs. Dark Grey decision. But no, Bioware MUST have happy happy joy joy endings.

Doing the Circle quest now. Good lord, the part with the SLOTH demon is annoying

Alistair is super easy to gain approval points with and killing Isolde or Connor isn't a deal-breaker with the relationship. Just hold one of his gifts back and give it to him after he yells at you.

I don't know if it was "wrong" of Bioware to give the option to use the Mages, but I think it would be interesting if there was a random chance of you coming back to a burned-down Redcliffe if you did leave.

That means party members, the desire demon, Isabella, Gheyna, and of course all the options in the pearl.
