Nope, not sure they even visit BSN. Most comprehensive banter videos I've seen, though

Haven't been able to watch the videos (except ipgd's) on my iPod, so I just saw Opera Hurlock.

I melted. Then I came.

I've almost managed to do Malvernis with my solo shadow assassin rogue. Well, I got past the archers and the arcane horror stage then realised that it's impossible to beat a dragon with a DW rogue when it does aoe attacks that almost one-shot you.

When I muster the motivation again I'll go run back to Kirkwall, pick up a good bow and just arrow the damn thing down (arrows+traps while the dog tanks).

Since I can't be bothered touching DA2 for the next few hours I'll consider uploading the first bit of the fight to show you what I've got so far (i.e. before it turned all dragon on me).

I got annoyed and decided to use a party. Here's the ~3minute run I did.

Brown is warm. I miss brown. Everything that's supposed to be brown--tree trunks, rocks, dirt--is all covered up with squashy green stuff here.

Brown also looks like poo.

Haha aside from random twilight quotes, the party vid of mine is with a duelist/shadow.

haha and yes i've read twilight. I read twilight back in the day before it was all super hyped up (my friend recommended it to me). Besides having a tad too many descriptions of how each and everyone looked (i.e. every second page) it wasn't that bad. But I wouldn't say i'm a fan

Also Arelex, you still haven't corrected that I was using a shadow duelist for my party vid.

jumpin' jesus on a pogo stick, i don't know how to get past the archer phase on this fight on nightmare. they are just cutting through my party in about 5 seconds flat. Is there ANY way to mitigate their damage? it's completely ridiculous.

Best I can do is clearing one side of them, but as i run to the other side, everyone is dead before i can even get there.

you could try swapping someone (merrill/varric) with bethany maybe and get an extra haste, heal, and barrier (to give a bit more allowance for healing).
That would be the ideal setup speed-wise.
A safer approach would be to bring Aveline along to act as a meat shield. With the friendship bonus, upgraded bodyguard and battle synergy she can make hawke and your mages a lot more durable.

A strategy which I found to work is to have your mages drop firestorms/tempests etc over one side while your rogue runs across and quickly wipes out the other. The only annoying thing is the way your companions will follow you across afterwards (maximum distance apart or some rubbish) so you'll have to either micro a bit more or just hope that they don't get arrowed down as they run across the middle.

There is also merit in equipping dmg resistance gear (e.g. belt of promise, fallen star) and maybe even chugging down a rock potion (though I prefer mighty offence).
But yeah, glassy companions like anders and varric get absolutely destroyed by archers. It's a little annoying how defence does nothing towards dodging/blocking arrows.
