What's the best enchantments for your weapons and armor against Malvernis?

In terms of actual weapons,
- Spirit weapons for first section (spectral archers/corpses seem to have the same vulnerabilities as the non-spectral variety). This means that the celebrant could be good for 2H, edge of night for S&S, shadow's claw and kiss of the maker for DW
- Cold weapons for the second section (dragon; spectral dragon is pretty much normal dragon by see-through). Bloom for 2H
For those weapons and any other weapons you want to use instead, enchanting them with the primeval rune is always going to be the best. Second will always be the rune of devastation. If you don't have access to those yet either use runes of striking or spirit/cold runes.
For armour runes I would recommend (besides runes of valiance) electricity warding and fire warding runes. During the first phase he'll be casting lots of lightning balls at you, which deal surprising amounts of damage if you're not careful. I don't think you can ward against the blood magic-esque death spirals. During the second phase there's going to be fireballs dropping on you and an angry dragon breathing on you. Firewarding does wonders in this regard.

Has anyone tried fighting the hidden boss in Act 2? I keep feeling like my party just isn't strong enough. I'm playing as a Rogue, and level 15.

theoretically, it should be easier, as him and his archer adds will have less health, but you won't be hawke of doom yet, either. i think it depends on how fast you and your party can clear the archers before getting worked, and keeping your companions out of the blood wound
