Yeah Hawke swinging his two hand sword with a light speed is faaaaaar better lol

How does making combat faster "dumb it down"?

I don't think there ia actually one fight in the whole of dragon age 2 where i had to think tactically, evey fight is just a matter of running in and killing mobs, all you have to do is keep an eye on health

Explain to me a fight in Origins that differs in tactics than DA2. Seriously. The extent of tactics in either game was the ability to pause and set up.

I'm pretty sure Witcher looks better than DA2, but I really am not keen in controlling somebody else''s character... 'For that reason i didnt play Dungeon Siege 3..

If DA3 became like The Witcher - at least in the sense of having a pre-fabricated male hero and no party-based combat - I'm pretty sure I would stab somebody with rusty nails. Possibly myself. Because I would find that more fun than playing The Witcher or its sequel.

I'm sure it's a good game if you like that kind of thing, but the hour of my life I spent playing it is one I'll never get back. I hate being forced to play a man in RPGs, the grimdark left me rolling my eyes, and I hated every single one of the combat mechanics. And I didn't even get up to the sex cards. (Yeah, yeah, I know they took that part out for the sequel.)

Er... sorry, but I'm not exactly sure about the point you're making with those videos, particularly the second one? Because what I'm getting is "gay characters should be written as kinky, flamboyant, and morally depraved!" which is not, I hope, what you're trying to say.

As much as I loved both Witcher games, I have no interest in seeing the two series merge.

Let me put it this way, Mass Effect and Dragon age were great. Seeing them combined was not so great. Merging the Witcher and DA would most likely end up with a similar result. Different games are enjoyable for different reasons.

No thanks. If I wanted to play the Witcher, I'd play...wait for it...The Witcher.

I love the Witcher but I love DA and really don't want the games to be in the same style.  I like having different types of games to play.

Now DA2's story could be better but that's another topic.

No, it was not what I was trying to say. I was trying to say is that in TW2, there is no moment where one would think those two would have any interest whatsoever in the opposite sex. BW's should not make a mess where everyone or almost everyone is bissexual.

If by that you mean, amazing graphics, mechanics, a real dark and mature game for adults, filled with really meaningful choices, clever humor, amazingly intrinsic politics, no hands holding, punitive of stupidity, no button awesome - at least until adrenaline bar is filled =) - a game which treats gamers at least as half intelligent beings who knows how to read...

All that combined with BioWare usual party-based combat and customizable protagonists (with all different races too) is certainly a winner.

This sounds good to me.

I see no evidence of "gay exclusive" (since, apparently, bisexual is bad story-wise, but let's leave that dead horse alone, poor thing). All I see are ignorant, forced stereotypes at their finest. <_<

So DA's writers should make their "gay" males ugly, old, flaming and depraved, and females hot and OMG kinky? Because what? Otherwise our poor feeble minds are unable to distinguish a sexual orientation? I don't enjoy being treated as a narrow-minded five-year-old, and if that's necessary for TW2's writers to make their point (whatever that point might be), then either said writers aren't as good as some people claim they are, or they have a very poor opinion of their intended audience.

Actually, you made a very good case against TW2 with those bits. Now I'm not sure I want to finish the game anymore, or ever read the books, and I really hope DA3 will never stoop down to this level of immaturity.

Waves essentially kill any possibility of tactical combat since they render positioning null.

In terms of production and story, absolutely. BioWare needs to refine the product and stop being so politically correct with their writing. It's dull, cliché and woefully predictable. It's also not particularly dark for a supposed dark fantasy epic.

Genuine emotion is what this franchise needs more of. Make me mad by having the antagonist commit some truly heinous acts and rub it all in my face. Make me sad by letting me witness the suffering instead of just having everyone blab on about how bad things are. Make me want to help. Get me invested in the world by showing more and telling less.

I never felt anything for the Hawke family as I never witnessed what they went through in Lothering. I never experienced the years and the sacrifices which came with them. As a result I had no actual bonds with my supposed kin. In my eyes this was the worst design decision by far. They could have easily added a prologue in which Hawke and his siblings ran around doing errands in Lothering and helping mama Hawke out.

FIrst, thanks for clarifiying!

Second, to answer your point: perhaps it's just because those clips are taken out of context, but they really don't strike me as what I'd want writing for gay characters in DA3 to be. I can agree that I'd like to see more characters who aren't just ambiguously bisexual-- if Alistair and Morrigan can only be romanced by the opposite gender, why can't there be characters who can only be romanced by the same gender?

... but if the options are having to deal with depictions of homosexual characters like that, and a world where everyone seems to be amazingly okay with you sleeping with anyone you want and it's no big deal (even to your own mother) errr... I'd probably take the latter option, sorry.

You just need to re-position your party, still tactical, you just can't fight a battle without having to move anybody. Saying something isn't tactical because you have to re-position/manouver is a silly thing to say.

I agree. These are the things that bother me the most about this game. Not even basic important choices about gender, colour, custom, etc. But that doen't bother me now because Bioware produced something different that allows me to be satisfied in these areas.

But If bioware want to copy this kind of thind, indeed I will scream. :o

Like morally-deprived and wicked people?

Yeah... no.  Just no.

I'd ask about your so-called authority on the way gay characters are written, but this post was so trollish I won't even bother.
