Alright, so I guess I'm incorrect about the size, but even the speed of swinging of something so huge is unrealistic. That's a problem. Hawke slashes with that thing way too quickly. I would asume even a muscular person (Hawke is not), wouldn't even be able to slash that fast, even with training. I doubt Hawke has formal training either.

That being said, I think they should have chopped down the sizes a bit to make it believeable.

Hawke was trained in fact and is muscular in fact. What's your next excuse? Hawke has small fingers?

I'm talking about someone who's the size of a pro football player or something.

Ohhhhhhhhhh, you mean someone on steroids!

Unfortunately they don't have steroids in the Dragon Age.

So why are you trolling if you didn't read them lol. You expect only poles to attack you? Well as far as i know there is a polish bsn so most of the poeple are there .

1) It's not trolling, especially since it's on topic. I explained that the games bored me.  Maybe the books wouldn't but that doesn't change the lack of appeal the game holds for me.
2) The Witcher is a really big deal in Poland.  Plus, that was a joke.  I don't expect reasonable people to attack me for simply not liking some entertainment media.

1That the game bored doesn;t bother me you started trolling over the books which you don't know
2 I am pole and i have nothing against your opinion on TW2 but doing such posts
(considering books)is simply trolling and provoking poeple. Sapkowski's books are really big deal here (in some scholls they can even be lecture over tolkien's hobbit) and game is big here for that but in fact most of the poele i know (here in my city) liked fist game more

Which is why Bioware should do this (It's a brief snippet of a post I made on page 104 of the Constructive Criticism thread):

Now, let me move to Greatsword animations. I think the animations should stay, but if you use up all of your stamina on abilities, then the animations slow down by 25%. So, you either continue striking at 75% of your normal attack speed until you build up some stamina again, or you drink a stamina draught. That's basically what those potions do. They give you more stamina. Not just stamina to use abilities, but in terms of not being exhausted.

Because despite Carver saying he's getting tired, his attack speed is the same.

DA2's animations are considerably more realistic than DAO's, for certain. Swords are not that heavy. A trained swordsman is not going to be weighed down like a ton of bricks.

Do you actually know anything about real swords or are you just repeating complaints you've heard other people make?

1) Re-read the full disclosure again.   It's not trolling.
2) It's not trolling or provoking people to say that I don't want DA3 to be like TW2 because I thought the latter was boring.

This is the last thing I'm going to say about that post, to you or anyone else.

So why did you come to the "boring source material" if you were writing about game? Srsly i don't want da3 to be another witcher i want it to be more like dao. I respect your opinion on TW2 i'm just pissed on all poeple that want to whine about sth they don;t know

Without magical speed bonuses (haste, items) the speed isn't that fast. Any slower and it would be annoying. Whether or not the animation is 100% realistic for a sword quite so big is immaterial, to me.

Granted I would prefer they eschew some of the more absurdly large designs such as Hayder's Razor.

why do so many people hate DA2?

because story doesn't exist in act 1, enemies are spawning in waves, side quests are TERRIBLE, there are no quests without fight, there is no meaningfull choices through game (If you killed the guy who will kill your mother  someone else will do this) , skills and abilities were dumbed down and evyrything looks like cheap console port, You are basically walking through 4-5 areas and hawke has no real motivation after chapter 2 to do anything

Dude first off so what if act 1 did not exist?its a game not a book  and who hates a quest with a fight? it makes you level up more.

so what? that i had no motivation to do main quest in act 1 and found myself bored. I don't hate quests with fight but i want some variety not only schematic "go and kill"

But see BW wanted to change things on DA2 that needed to be changed  like the combat needed to be faster your charater needed to talk and the DLC needed to be cooler then origins one and the story makes a nice change its not all THE WORLDS GONA END WE NEED TO SAVE THE WORLD i like DA2 story it was epic.

Seriously if someone else calls DA:2 epic (besides David Silverman) I'm gonna start seeing pigs fly out of my window.

Seriously if someone else even implies that epic equals good I'm going to start slaughtering those pigs and turning them into delicious bacon.

Also epic doesn't equal good.

Ummmm...no.

They're considerably more stylized and exaggerated. Certainly one can prefer them over Origins, which are a bit slow. But to call DA2's 20 foot rogue jumps into the air  from a dead stop or electric sliding across the battlefield with flames splurting out of one's ass more realistic than Origins?

That said, the animations in both DAO and DA2 aren't very good, but for me, DA2's were atrocious on a visual level.

what is so comparable between wtcher and jade empire fighting system? In jade empire you choose style of your attacks roll and block. In tw2 you use light and strong attack , block , use magical signs , traps , bombs , roll , use special abilities (group finishers and potions. So i can't exactly see your point

I'm trying to imagine Hayder actually using that thing as a razor.

It's actually kinda funny.

Some are, like the basic 2H sword animations.  The DAO ones for those were bad.

Alright, I suppose I can agree with that. The long swords weren't that bad. But only a superhuman juggernaut would be able to carry greatswords that big.

These guys totally look like superhuman juggernauts.

Thank you! I post that video so much and get barely any acknowledgement that it's not that hard! Especially when the guy does the equivalent to a Sunder Armor technique like 4 times in a row later on!

Thanks you  Hooray - now  hopeful this   should  shut  down that whole  "Unrealistic" sword   debate.

This is what context is for, guys.

I meant the 2H weapon animations. Which are more realistic than DAO's.
