I've decided to post a new thread for update on this challenge.  The challenge was intiated by Carinna.  For discussion purpose please post in the original thread.

Rules of the challenge are straight forward.  You are trapped in Faerun.  You are limited in what knowledge you have as you play through Baldur's Gate 1 and/or Baldur's Gate 2 SoA and/or ToB.

1.  No Reloading, except for Bugs, Glitches, etc...  And Deaths.

     - The object of this challenge is to experience the world as you would if you was trapped in Faerun.

2.  Stats are rolled with approximate value of what you yourself would be within the game.

     - These stats are a guideline, as some classes has minimum requirements.  As such if your value is lower than the minimum for such class you should go with the minimum value.

3.  No restrictions on class or Race choices.

    - Pick what you feel you would be if you was trapped in Faerun

4.  No Using ShadowKeeper or other such programs.

    - This challenge is not about power gaming such methods are frawned upon if used

5.  Have fun experiencing Faerun from your own perspective.

This is a Roleplaying challenge.  As with such you are expected to choose and behave as if you was the character.  As the reason for the no reload outside the common reason one should reload.  Otherwords if you made a mistake you have to live with it.  Only reason one should reload if game is unable to be completed via bugs and glitches or you died in battle.

This challenge is for casual players so anyone  can enjoy the challenge.

Stat values are roughly as follow:

Strength stat is based on how much you can carry without being slowed. So a Strength of 9=50, 10=70, 11=75, 12=80, 13=90, 14=120, 15=150, 16=170, 17=180, 18=200-350, 19=500 (I might be off on some these but their fairly close to accurate i believe).

Dexerity stat is how agile and how good you hand eye coordination is. Dexerity of 9-11= average, 12-14=above average, 15-17=superior, 18+=flawless.

Constitution is your threshold for pain, physical condition, and immunity to illness. Constitution of 9=below average, 10-11=average, 12-13=above average, 14-15=superior, 16-17=flawless, 18+=Perfect.

Intelligence is your ability to learn, reason, and knowledge. Intelligence of 9=average, 10-13=above average, 14-16=border genius, 17-19=genius.

=update=

Currently I have recently awakened from a comatose stat inside a dungeon, I was greeted by a panicing girl name Imoen. She claimed to have known me from childhood. All this seemed confusing. Although she seems troubled she refuses to leave without me. As we approached a room adjacent to my cell we spot a Golem. Imoen comments that whoever controls this place has to be using powerful magics. Although, not hostile we avoid speaking to the golem. We take what is needed from the room. Imoen being a thief checked the room for traps. Unknown to myself the painting on the wall seems to grab her attention. After further inspection she disarmed the trap and unlocked the treasue vault. Inside was a magical dagger and some potions.

Imoen being wise enough notice that the dagger was enchanted as a +1. Since she claims she skilled in the use of it. I allowed her to use it. As we explored the cages in the previous room, I spotted two individuals being held imprisoned. Approaching the cage of the female prisoner she began to ramble on about being set free. I asked her who she was. Her response puzzled me as much as Imoens. Claiming to know who I was. It could not be a lie much more if both Imoen and the female prisoner Jaheira claims to know who I was. Apparently whoever captured us has resulted into my amnesia state.

After freeing Jaheira we approached the other cage holding a brutish man. He raved and howl with anger demanding to be set free. It seems he too known of me. After talking to the raving man Minsc we find out the cell is permanently sealed. As such I wasn't in much of a hurry to figure it out. Through Minsc sheer anger he broke the door lose, freeing himself. Coming to calmer heads he realize that I might have been edging him on as a ploy. Not that I would have thought of it at the time.

As such I felt there was no need to rush into danger without taking a break to reflect on what was going on. Not to mention to figure out why I cannot remember anyone that is currently with me. Imoen commented on the dangers the place posed, but wonder why i would rest in such a place. I told her it didn't seem as though anyone has taken notice of our escape. While we rested I suddenly remember spells that I didn't know I had. As such the group was ready to venture forth to escape are captors.....

I have had a change of heart what class I wanted to run the challenge as... As such I would like to retire the last one gracefully.

Exit the old in with the new...

=Character Info=
Name: Da'Vid
Race: Dwarf
class: Fighter/Thief Multiclass
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Stats: 15 Str, 13 Dex, 19 Con, 17 Int, 16 Wis, 10 Cha
Profiencies: Quarterstaff *, Spear *, Long Bow *, Short Bow *, 2 Handed Weapon Style **
------

Pretty much the same options was taken as previously, with the exception of resting initially. I will continue the story once I get pass area I last started. Which should only take 30ish minutes. Hopefully more will post of their exploits.  As well I changed some of the stats to reflect more accurately of myself.  Seems I was short changing myself.  On top of that I added in the bonus Stat Tomes that I would otherwise not have the option to get.  As such some of the stats are boosted far beyond my normal physical limitation.

==Update==

As I, Da'Vid, and company explored the dungeon further we run into a strange device. It hums and crackles with what seems electricity. As they aproached the device monsters began to zap out of it. While minsc and jaheira distract the creature, myself and Imoen figure out how to turn the device off if it was even possible. After a few skirmishes the machine finally shut down. Cautious of the traps that may lay further into the dungeon, I began to search the area of further such dangers. As we exited the room into a large cavern filled with crystals a Djinn appeared. He introduced himself. Though not the owner of dungeon, the djinn seems to have an interest in me asking a question of strange circumstances. Despite my reluctancy I answer the djinn question. Despite his pleasure he summoned an ogre. We took the brute down quickly only to be greeted with the djinn once more. Explaining of ways to exit the dungeon.

Confuse by the riddle we venture forth to be ambush by goblins. Although numerous, they posed little threat. It was the golem in the central chamber of the dungeon that concern myself as i entered the room, not noticing the mephit to my right i was knocked down as the rest of the group rush to my aid. Upon my return to my feet, I talked to the stationary golem. Seems to be blind of who I was, I lied to it. With information obtained we may now find a way out of the dreadful place.

Finding the room with the undead servant we learn of how to relieve the wretched soul of it torment. Imoen spoke to me about death. I explained that it is not always something to fear, should I have been trapped like that I to would seek death.

Now we know of the secrets of the dungeon we continued back to the golem. Again lying to the creature we now gain access to the heart of the dungeon, the pit. Seems a guardian resides there. Despite the danger we prepare for a potential battle. The beast was ugly and stunk horribly, but was disposed of quickly by minsc and I.

We then arrived to a private chambers of sorts. Although peaceful I felt a danger looming. Dispatching the traps layed out in the room I've come into possession several keys. Further exploration of the room revealed the Helm of Balduran. As Imoen so boldly reminded me of learning from Candlekeep in our childhood, which i still don't recall. In the room of to the north was band of goblins guarding a portal of sorts. Seems a key is needed to be used. Back into the main room another passage led into a cavern filled with fauna, and 3 creatures of immense beauty. The cried out for our help. Claiming they have been trapped there by an evil of a man void of emotion, named Irenicus. With helping the dryads to escape they agreed to reveal how to escape the dungeon as well.

As we head to find this Druegar whom been left in charge to guard the dungeons stock supply, we stumble into a library. Imoen again clamouring about home reminded me once again about candlekeep. The more she speaks of home the more I begin to think this Irenicus stole my memory. Should I find this man I may end up demanding answers without compassion.

As we followed the corridor from the library we stumble into the Druegars room. The leader was quick to condem me and my group to death. After a dire battle, we was victorious suffer minor wounds. With acorn in hand we decided to explore further before returning to the Dryads. Chance have it we enter a room with a creature held captured. Without warning, Minsc moronically release the humanoid creature from its prison, sending it into a hostile frenzy. Despite its strength we manage to destroy the beast with minor injuries stuffered.

As we back tracked I notice a door that was previously over looked. As i approached the door the strange figurine found in the bed chambers vanish as the door opened. Curiously we step into the door. Out we came into an outdoor area. Of course I was baffled by the scenery. Despite my cluelessness we explored the area, only to be mobbed by a group of mephits. The stunned Minsc as Imoen called for help. After a massive skirmish we manage to rid of the area of the foul creatures. At the end of the long platform was a balcony. On the balcony lays a lamp of sorts. Of course my curiousity resulted in a genie being released.

The genie claimed to have an item of mine that was taken when I was captured. It has come to my attention now that all these stories of my deeds of past are true now. Then this Irenicus will pay dearly should I ever find him. The genie offered a trade for the item. I agreed only to see what the genie might have.

We returned to the dryads. They seem happy, even if they are still trapped. Their trust of me might prove fruitful. I ask the dryads of the genie. They hand me the item that will free the genie ending the agreement. The dryads also spook of how to flee the dungeon. the key was in her room. As i entered the mistresses room an alarmed triggered. Out of haste I searched the room and found the portal key.

As we headed back to the bed chamber a golem warn that violators of the mistresses room is punish by death. We dispatched the golem only to be attacked by a second. Narrowly Minsc downed a potion to restore strength to finish the golem. Before we used the portal i decided we pay a visit to the genie after all. With the genies freedom he handed over the item. After all the detours, I decided that the item would be better used by Minsc. After all what would I want with my dead brother sword? He was obviously an evil man like the one that trapped us here.

Using the portal we are met by a shady man. He introduced himself as Yoshimo, that the room beyond is an elaborate trap that requires to rid of the portals. He suggested that we dispose of the portals quickly less we be overwhelmed by the creatures they spawn. Opening the door Imoen called forth help as we cleared the room. After a tug of war battle all the portal disposed of the room was safe atm. As Jaheira surveyed the room she spots a corpse. Horrified of what she saw she enters into a grievance state. No councel will ease such pain she have just endured. After all knowing your partner in life layed dead and mutilated.

We pressed forward despite our comrade fragile emotional state. As we entered a grand hall we spot a thief and a druegar trade words. The thief trips a trap and kills himself as the druegar turns his attention to us. Apparently the fool thought the trap deactivated with the death of the thief, fell to the same trap. Upon surveying the room I notice pedestals along the wall. As I approached them the keys turn into magical wands. Further more the traps deactivated in the process.

Free to leaved the dungeon we rest forawhile then proceed to head out of the tunnel...

I don't think it necessary to have split threads on the same "challenge" subject. Discussion and updates can go into the same thread, as the info will begin to divide into discussion and updates in both threads eventually anyway. Please copy/paste your posts back into the original thread. Thanks.
