I was following a tutorial on how to make cutscenes,
and they opened it up, and I couldn't do it because I was in the demo tutorial,
so I changed this to single player and everything is going fine,
and then I notice its like spot the difference, and I found the difference,
the little blue world by the timeline in the tutorial titled 'master' and then the pre-built 'camera one' are not on mine,
I don't know if they were ever there or if I have foolishly cleared them, I just don't know,
could anybody tell me how to get them back, or if they aren't there in the new toolset, or just help please?
Thanks

Hi,
I'm not sure what you would like to do, but in answering your question, the blue/green ball is the master object and is found in every cutscene. The Master object can't be deleted from the timeline actor list. Cameras can be added and deleted though. Are you positive you can't find the master object?

I would also suggest you begin by creating a new module for your cutscenes as opposed to using the single player module (since that is the actual game and touching those resources can mess things up :) You can set the module hierarchy to include single player resources though.

This uploader (st4rdog) has great video tutorials that can guide you through various processes

heyas;

if you set the cutscene to use a big area, the master and camera 1 might be stuck in the 0.0 corner of it. you *should* see the master and camera in the timeline list panel at the bottom. you can click on them there, then select one of the views and use the zoom to or focus on buttons to 'find' them in the scene. you may have to drag them some distance to get them to the active part of a big area.

dahlia, where's the instructions for module hierarchies including single player stuff?

To elaborate on what bloodsong wrote, the easy way to find any object in your cutscene is to click on it in the timeline list, select the user window, (window bar should be blue) and go to the icon menu on top and click on either the "zoom to object" or "focus on object" icon buttons to instantly find the object in the viewport.

@bloodsong are you talking about creating a module?

This however looks helpful but needs work :D

There is definately nothing on the timeline, absolutely nothing, no master, no cameras, nothing :(

I'll try making those things

You can't create the master object manually. If you post a screenshot of your setup we might be able to help you. Could it be you created a new area as opposed to a cutscene?

There is a timeline though correct? The timeline window can be dragged smaller or larger so perhaps it has been dragged off the bottom of the screen so to speak.

heyas;

thanks dahlia; its been a while since i was in the editor and i couldn't remember the button names and icons and all! gah.

i dont THINK i mean to create a new module. suppose i want my cutscene module to use all the resources of the single player (creatures, dialogues, areas, etc etc). oh! there it is!
