If you're using blood magic, shouldn't you put some points in Constitution? I think blood magic is based on your constitution score.

a couple of minor suggestions:

Late game I would add 1 skill in poision to taint your blade you really only need 2 in Combat Training if your short.

I would consider the Warden Commander Armor or Wades Medium Superior Dragon Skin Armor over Cailan's armor set for greater regen rate (depending of course on your playstyle).

My first AW which was very similar to this build, I missed alot (which irritated me), so I would increase Dex. Also if you plan to switch to BM to cast spells during battles, then you should increase constitution as Mike Smith suggested.

Is this going to be a solo build? (If so I recommend ice tree to start over fire plus it combo's with stonefist and crushing prison. Also consider the glyph line)

Avernus should live if you plan to import to DA2

I find the melee Arcane warriors to be boring.
Heres my Official setup.

Elf Circle Mage
Blood Mage / Arcane Warrior (/Keeper in Awkening)

Stats
Str, Dex, Cun, Will, = Base
Magic = 2 per level
Con = 1 per level
(Note Cun starts at 11, +5 from Fade = 16 needed for max Coercion)
(Also sometimes I like to add more Con, usualy after 60+ Magic is achieved)

Equipment
- Weapon -
Staff of the Magister Lords

- Armor -
Evon the Greats Mail
Wades Superior Dragonscale Gloves
Wades Superior Dragonscale Boots
Helm of Honnleath, First Enchanters Cowl, or Libertarians Cowl. (As needed or availible)

- Accessorys -
The Spellward
Sash of Forbidden Secrets
Key to the City
Lifegiver

- Spells -
Besides the Arcane Warrior standards I favour Glyphs, Summoning and Spirit Spells and Lighting in Primal.
(I love Affliction Hex+Stinging Swarm+Virulent Walking Bomb)

A side note, particularly in Awakening you can get -25% Fatigue with this build that stacks with Blood magic and improved Blood Magic. This means your casting spells at 35% cost (-25% from Fatigue, -60% from Improved Blood Magic). Also with Keeper spec your healing health at a alarming rate.

As for when to do the Circle Tower. I actualy prefer to do Orzamaar upto where you get Ohgren then do the Circle Tower as he has some very unique dialog inside and it changes his dialog in Awakening.

I usually did use the Warden Commander Set till Wade's Set but that was on my ps3 where the set bonus actually worked. On my new xbox they never patched it so the warden set would give a set bonus. Would it still be good with no set bonus till mid game when i could get Wade's set?

I would personaly mix 'n match the set, but thats me. Warden Boots+Blood Dragon Chest works nice together. Partcularly with a Executioner Helm as well.

i find that you lack ice spells..the ice spells and the glyph spells are much better than 4 point for mana clash and haste. if possible, i go for inferno and blizzard to grab threat. dispel magic is another worth considering.

That is of course if you dont mind killing or incapacitating your party.

For Ice all you need is the Cone of Cold spell and only for the Freeze effect. There are of course many other stuns like this that lead to better spells.

Mana Clash 1 shot kills mages and several bosses. I dont see why you wouldnt take this spell. You also get the useful spell might and mana drain below it.

Inferno, Blizzard, Tempest, Earthquake, Death Cloud. Are all Risky to use since they do significant friendly fire effects and if you did want a great aoe like this? then why ignore Storm of the Century?

inferno seem great for AOE spell without killing your party with all the fire resistant armour that is available tho. but personally, my arcane warrior is much more melee based. mana clash is awesome, i get a heavy hitter achievement just by using it on a mage. but maybe just me, i dont particularly find it worth for my build as i am more cc based, therefore spell might doesn't help me much unless i am going for the storm or enhanced reanimate combo, otherwise, i will just skip it. will be replaying arcane warrior again for another few time to try different style of playing. thinking of hex and creation based arcane warrior build.

All mages should get Storm of the Century in my opinion. If things are absolutely going down the toilet and the rest of your party is going down, fire it off and you will indiscriminately kill everything. In general you need to think about whether you want to be more of a caster in armour, or an indestructible auto attacking tank.

I enjoy the former myself :wizard: its much more satisfying and useful in my opinion since you can still make it indestructable.

The glyph spells are absolutely amazing IMHO. Paralysis explosion will keep almost every enemy you can see locked down for a good amount of time even on nightmare. The last glyph sucks a bit but going up to paralysis is well worth it, especially early on.

What spells would be suggested for a caster in armor kinda AW? I mean, I'm all for keeping a couple of sustains for survivability, but my AW at the moment has I think 8 sustains running, and is reduced to pretty much constant autoattacking. Wanna try and cut that down and have a few decent offensives.

Magic is the only thing that can hurt you, so mana shield & mana clash are given.
Miasma didn't do much for me, but ~30 dex did a whole lot for hit rate,
actually 26 dex is usually enough, but then there is Gaxkang,
and i really want to be up his arse with mana draining poison mage bane as often as i possibly can,
so i only make 2 coercion and max out poison, 1 stealing for Denirim, and max combat training.
