I don't know if it just me, but the Friendship / Rival mechanic and get... well just a wee bit annoying, it was ok on a First or 2nd play threw but now it just feel like it getting in the way, I kinda miss the DA:1 DLC to just toss a gift at them till there at what you want and go about the game normally.

Anyone with me on this? ((Probably guessing not))

I wouldn't mind a Feastday/Prank Gifts DLC again. I wonder what the gifts would be...

I think they would be great for dialogue/banter prompts, but not necessarily as something that affects the friendship/rivalry scale.

I would like a giant sign for Aveline that says "Don't."

On the PC you can "runscript zz_app_debug". It's pretty much the same thing as the feastday DLC and I admit to having used it.

Agree with you it's ok on 1st and 2nd walkthrough but gets in way after that. Would like to see them return but not sure if Bioware would make another Feastday dlc.

I'd rather the dev team put their time towards more story-based content. I guess I just didn't find the gifts/pranks terribly amusing (more immersion breaking than anything else), and I'd rather have more meaningful content like Legacy.

Having probs with getting enough rivalry points with Isabela in Act 3 to get the final Questioning Belief quest so having some pranks to help me boost this to full Rivalry would be great, since being a PS3 owner I can't edit the games saves.

While excellent story based DLC is great, I wouldn't mind the gifts either. They were fun to experiment with in Origins.

To steal from something I said a while ago, somewhere, I want a dlc where blood mage Hawke (and/or with Merrill along, if Hawke isn't a blood mage) spends the day trolling everyone with mind control. Forcing Fenris to wear a tutu and sing songs is my idea of a good time.

"...tip me over and pour me out. Maker help me, witch, I will end you."
"Again!"
"I'm a little teapot.."

As far as adding a cheap way to boost friendship/rivalry, no, no thank you. That I don't really want. It undermines the whole mechanic - and the resulting personality shifts - too much for my liking, especially with folk like Anders or Isabela, where the difference between friendship and rivalry is distinct.

I don't mind the concept for later play-throughs (cannot rival Bethany or Varric for the life of me and I'm curious), but having it available the first time would take a lot away from the story. Maybe the items could be un-lockable once you finished the game once or twice as a reward?

I get her to max friend in no time and by act 2 she is gone.:pinched:
Carver is always at 50 rival or less at the end aswell..:?

@ladyjanegray
yes because people buy dlc so they have to unlock it,thats like saying... wow i don't even have an anology for that.
Wait i found one thats like saying inorder to wear the purple shirt i must 1st wear a red shirt and a blue shirt.as i do not want to take away from the shirt wearing experience.

@Barry Sorry if I was unclear. What I mean is: I like the concept of having an instant friend/rival switch available after you've put in the effort - as an un-lockable in the main game. I was musing on the ethics of breaking the system more than a DA2 DLC itself.

the friendship/rivalry system is already broken so why not break it more.

I'd like one. Mostly so I CAN GET CARVER TO FREAKING LIKE ME.

Also so I can give everyone their terrible terrible gifts.
