 Hey guys, I really took into consideration which teammate I should choose to save during Virmire; as for some unfathomable reason, I have not purchased a copy of Mass Effect 2 and I was wondering who would be a better choice to have during ME2. The Drell guy looks pretty cool and I was intending to use him during my adventures in ME2, do you guys have any squad combinations that are worth noting?

Thanks ahead of time, as for purchasing ME2, I intend on doing it this week!

Neither Ash or Kaiden are squad mates in ME2.

Personally, I liked the combo of Grunt and Kasumi.
Garrus and Zaeed.
Miranda and Thane, (''the drell guy'')

I thought you could recruit the one who was left alive after Virmire...? Perhaps I was mistaken, I did get my information from the ME wiki. Anyway, to my personal preference, there are lines for both Kaidan and Ashley. I won't get too much into it but I do favor Kaidan over her, but I can never bring myself to save Kaidan at Virmire.

All this talk of ME2 makes me want to spend my savings on it... :X

The ones that rejoin your squad on a permanent basis are Tali and Garrus, some of the others will make cameo appearances in various places through the game, and one plays a very major role in one of the dlc's

Nope, you're dead wrong.  They'll appear briefly, but as to why/how/what/when I'll let you find out yourself.
Maybe they'll be recruitable in ME3, but not in 2.
