I wouldn't say, "several of us" ... going back with a closer look I realize 3 other people had someone die during their mission ... I simply missed that among the predominance of "everyone survived" posts.

I agree with that. The virmire decision was REALLY hard for me too. I know a lot of people didn't hesitate to save Ashley, but on my first playthrough I played as a vanguard - and my Kaidan x Garrus team was insane. :C 

Sadly for Kaidan, I like Ashley more as a character - and she has a family. Ah well.

That is what I had been expecting going in, more Virmire style scenarios, in various forms, which forced you to make sacrifices.  These were the people willing to die for both You and The Mission ... it is rather anticlimactic when everyone can walk out alive. 

Thankfully they leave you the option of killing people in the mission if you want to.

Thankfully they leave you the option of killing people in the mission if you want to. 

:C Still not as satisfying when you have the option to leave people alive though. I kind of hope leaving everyone alive causes complications. Someone betrays you or blows up something important. Er- not like Anders. Sticking to character continuity of course. Perhaps Miranda or Jacob cause problems because of their relationship with Cerberus. Or Jack destroys something important. I think thats kind of why I want to keep Morinth alive.

My infiltrator did it from a roleplaying perspective. As sole survivor, he hated that 2 people under his command died in me1 (Jenkins and Kaidan). Given his history, he'd do everything possible to ensure that no one died if he could prevent it. (I didn't recruit Zaeed though, if i did he would die during his loyalty mission)

I have plenty of other playthroughts with 1 or more casualties too, just didn't choose them for my first playthrough since i like my paragade infiltrator
