Anyone have this happen to them?

I scan the planet in which the
quest is located (2175 Aeia) and
get the normal 'anomaly detected' message. However, I noticed that the
planet has eezo, so I do some mining first. After launching several probes, the white hand disappears and I get a message stating something to
the effect of "nothing detected", and I am unable to uncover the spot
nor land on the planet.

Unfortunately, that guy's fix didn't work for me. Any tips?

This is probably not what you want to hear but try loading an old save. Immediately uncover the anomaly and then open the scanner again and get your eezo.
