Please no elevators.

If it leads to squad banter though then yes to elevators. They weren't that annoying anyway.

Squad banter should be made random while walking around or at specific points. The elevators were a usless waste of loading time. You saw how seamless the news reports were made by just putting them over the intercom. That worked much better.

Going to elevator that takes over a minute for possible squad banter doesn't worth it.

I'd take a minute of squad banter in an elevator over a boring loading screen.

This^

But there was only 15 seconds of banter and 45 seconds of the mind numbing elevator.

Cool.

To answer his question, though, I'd live on one of the newer colony worlds.  I hate big cities and I hate bureaucrats trying to tell me what I can and can't do.  So you can keep your overgrown space station.

I don't know why people complain about elevators in ME1. They were OPTIONAL (have you guys never used fast travel?).

believe whatever you want bra. bottom line is: teleporting between cells instead of actaully travelling there breaks up the immersion and makes the world seem small and disconnected.

I never agreed or disagreed with you regarding the Presidium. I just wanted you to know that only the Presidium section you can jump to is part of the Presidium, every other place on the Citadel in ME2 were part of the wards.

And I assure you, sir, that I know the difference between the Presidium and the Wards. What you failed to grasp from my very first reply is that I explained the misunderstanding you had:

You thought I was including the Wards when talking about the Presidium when I referenced teleporting around, when in fact I was simply referencing the general vibe of ME2 compared to ME1 in general (teleporting between disconnected, immersion-breaking cells vs. actual exploration, travel, realism, immersion etc).

Now can we please just agree that ME1's Presidium was better than ME2??? Sure there was the Krogan fish guy but other than that... :bandit:

People never seem to mention the 'other' loading screens, e.g. when travelling between systems on the galaxy map. That was the beauty of ME1, it was seamless in so many ways - one big long adventure. :)

I am looking forward to seeing the Presidium in ME3

I caution folks about getting their hopes up. That tweet isn't confirmation of anything, much less an expansive Presidium like the one in the original Mass Effect.

I swear though, if I see an elevator in ME3, and this happens-

*Enters elevator*

"Woo! Squad banter and seamless transitioning! Gonna stay immersed, this is like Mass Effect, this ROCKS!"

*screen fade out, loading screen starts*

"FUUUUUUUU-"

I will be so pissed off you'll have no idea.

I support elevators but I'd also like more variety in what we use to get to floors for instance escalators, stairs, sky cars, and elevators should all be used throughout the citadel and any other large hub worlds having all elevators is unrealistic for how the cities are laid out but so is all stairs for the same reason.

This is kind of a obvious thing isnt it? It was in the last 2 games. Why wouldnt it be in the last?

It wasn't in Mass Effect 2.  The Citadel got shrunk down to Zakera Ward and the ambassador's office.  I hate the way that ME 2 laid out the Citadel.  I also hate the mission complete screens.

We'll see how much of it is exactly in the game. It was in ME2, you just couldn't explore it. Hopefully it will be a similar size to what it was in ME1, but with more to do.

Right, because loading screens and "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED" screens were so much better then dialog between team mates. Bring back the elevators, please bioware. Hell I even missed watching my team go through the airlocks of the normandy before leaving the ship. They talk about cinematics and immersion and that was something that I thought actually worked pretty well.

Ohhh, that is a good idea. I like that a lot. It would give you the feeling of a larger scale city.

I hope the Presidium is expanded in ME3. That I can still visit the Conduit, see the krogan statue, say 'Hi' to Shi'ara. see the elcor and (hopefully separate) volus embassies, chat with the bartender again, and hopefully make a donation to the Preaching hanar.  Not to mention see the Citadel Tower in its renovated grandeur.

That, and open up a few areas, and find out where the keepers truly originate; this is a must.

Please elevator chats instead of these awful loading screens!!!

Hell yes. I would rather have the elevators rather than those BORING loading screens.

The PC/console issue makes elevators tricky.

The 30 second loading screens on the 360 in ME2 were horrible. I'd rather be able to at least look at the character models and hear banter on an elevator while it loads.

I always considered the replacement of elevators with loading screens to be a huge overreaction by Bioware. The "Someone complained about X, remove it totally!" mentality that was heavy in ME2. It seems they forgot why they put the elevators in the game in the first place.

However having seen how fast it loads on even a half decent PC, (only a couple of seconds on some) then I would say being forced to sit through 30 seconds of elevator would be annoying, banter or not. Perhaps a simple "Loading complete. Press X to skip" text prompt in the bottom corner of the screen so you have the option?

Sounds like the perfect solution to me. Kind of doubt it will be implemented though. :( We will probably just get loading screens again.

I'd like to live in the Citadel, in general.  The way I see it, the Citadel is basically the galactic version of NYC with the richest area with the highest power people living in the finance/political district (the Presidium) right in the middle with the U.N. building (Citadel Tower) right in the center of that.

So......living in the Wards would be cool, but only live in the Presidium if I had enough money.
