I don't think they just walk up to each other and one pokes the other in the head with his finger and says "Ohohohoh! You're pregnant now!"

A hilarious trolling move until the child support bills start piling up.

His group probably had a couple of females, considering the goal, but then the whole indoctrination thing happened and then he was forced to hunt them all down and kill them.

But my point is who to say they didnt have other groups set up to do the samething Prothy's group was set up to do, which Prothy probably had no info on because if the Reapers found out it would be a bad thing. Not to mention that it must have been hard for them to keep in contract with all their planets after the Reapers trap happened.

There's more than likely no way of telling that the other Protheans did, since he probably had no way of knowing that.

That's most likely how it will be, with a 90% certainty. Personally, I wouldn't be entirely eager to turn away a chance to find other prothean survivors and give him hope for his people, even though this would lessen his "I am the anger of a dead people"-impact. I feel that it would be contrived if he was the literally only prothean to survive.

Either way, I'm not going to be disappointed.

Well the way I see it from the sounds of it, its not highly impossible for there to be more Stasis pods setup like Prothy's was. I mean there had to be other groups of Protheans on different planets doing exactly the thing that Prothy did and since the communcations was probably next to none during the war because of what the Reapers trick with the Citadel did to their Empire. I would say that its highly probably that there are other Protheans alive out there but slim chance that there would be a few females within one of those groups. But of course if all those were meant with a few other surviving Protheans and some being female, they would have to take a primitive way to repopulate their species.

"coughs" Did you say primitive way to repopulate their species?Image IPB

Oh i meant primitive way as in inbreeding type deal. How do you think we humans populated the Earth so well, it wasnt until the 1800s that we stopped mating with our sisters/brothers. I mean we only started not doing that because it would better prevent the child from having the same genetic problem has said parents, more diveristy for the gene pool. It all comes down to science why we dont mate with our sibling anymore or anyone within the family zone.

But the point is the Protheans would have to inbreed within their family circles probably just to repopulate their race until they eventually had enough genetic diveristy not to have to do that. And now I take my leave of absence for awhile again, Prothy, the last Prothean has made me really think about if maybe there are more Protheans alive out there in the galaxy. Heck the Galaxy is a big place and our current cycle only has 1% of the Galaxy known to them last i remember, whose to say there isnt a planet out there with a group of Protheans living isolated from the galaxy.

Everytime i hear "anger of dead people" a phrase occurs in my mind.

There can be more protheans. Thats the main thing of having an unexplored galaxy, with more than a few thousand civ's before this one

...There are certain parts of the USA...

But yeah, I'm wondering how many protheans it would take to...restore their species while maintaining a healthy enough genetic diversity.

Well, that might not even be needed if today's scientific research venues lead anywhere. Scientists are looking into rather promising ways of growing eggs from male genetic material, and with genetic modification eliminating defective genes  caused by inbreeding, it is potentially possible to rebuild Prothy's species from him and him alone. Of course, they would need artificial wombs, but that's something we're already underway of developing in real life, so yeah.

You'd think the technology 200 years into the future would allow all of this stuff.

If Miranda's father can have her grown without a mother, surely Prothy could have a child grown without one?

If you paragonise him, I think he would. Really, it's not like he has to carry around on the thing - his contribution would amount to donating samples of his genetic material and little else.

Hah, I imagine the hanar would collectively adopt his child, if he let them.

This isn't something you find out by romancing her. It's under her file on the Shadow Broker base. I've seen it in-game and none of my Sheps ever touched her. Image IPB

Doesn't she also admit that her father found and used traits from several different women when he made her? That would suggest at the very least needing the genetic code or markers from several female sources.

What if Prothy can't get his hands on any of that sweet, sweet female coding?

yeah that it true. Another Prothean would be needed regardless of what method of reproduction. Poor Prothy really is

On the plus side the Hanar can easily become monotheistic since they now only have one living god! :innocent:
