I was expecting/hoping for something reminiscent of Vigil. This will take a bit of getting used to. That being said, the only major criticism I have is that the lines sound really rushed - hopefully that's a result of the extraction and they'll be slower in-game.

Having listened to him about a dozen times over now, I think the voice is starting to grow on me. I just can't shake the idea of Hermes + Kit Fisto out of my mind though...

For the record, I never said that he reminded me of Kratos (in fact, I've only ever played just a bit of the first GoW).... the way the Prothean said some of his more serious lines, his voice reminded me a lot of Vamp from MGS, which is what lead me to Phil LaMarr (plus, LaMarr has done VO work for BioWare in the past).

And I would know having play both series the TC Carson and Phil  Lamarr sound  very  different and   Prothy sounds  more like    Phil Lamar then Kratos...

I'll be honest, I'm not a fan of his voice, though his less frantic lines sound somewhat better. Still, I like him a lot as a character, and I'll be picking him up ASAP.

I will concede that the Prothean's voice is a matter of opinion.

The voice acting isn't bad, but the accent is definitely not at all what I expected or imagined and that puts me off.

I hate the idea of a Prothean squadmate, but for reasons that don't have anything to do with his accent.

Its in ****ty quality, so dont judge that harshly

I think the main concern with people is that it might not hold the transcending intellectual  essence Vigil had. Though I doubt this is the case.
