Mass Effect without the aliens would not be Mass Effect. A pretty cool sci-fi story, I guess, but definitely not Mass Effect.Cthulhu42 wrote...
You have to admit, though; without the aliens, ME would be a far less fun game. I'm imagining the games now with all the alien squadmates taken away, and it is a frightening thought. Who would I romance then?

Only decision now is whether to purchase the CE or just download him later. I needed to buy some MS points anyway, and I don't really care about the weapons and appearances and that robo-dog. The metallic box the game comes in, on the other hand... I'm gonna miss that. Well, not so much since I really hate Shepard's picture on it. And the art book, would miss that too.
I can't believe how Prothy has become the focus of my excitement for ME3, over all the things I was excited for before. Right now I feel like I only care about Prothy...

Exactly. That was kind of the vibe I got from the trailer. Pretty cool, but it just didn't feel like ME.AdmiralCheez wrote...

Really? I always found the humans more interesting than the aliens with the exception of Wrex, Mordin and Samara. I do love me some Grunt, but his story and conversations leave much to be desired.

I think that, putting aside the squadmates, it's the story itself that it'd would have been weaker without the alien races, at least in my opinion.

Something tells me that you are only purchasing the rights to use him as a squad-mate.
Without purchase the character still appears and plays his part but you can't select him in the squad
I think that would be great if it turned out to be true ^^^^^^^^^

I can see that, say, he could be an integral part of the plot, BUT, if you purchase the DLC (which everyone will no matter how much they whine) you'll get a huge mission with him, and him as a permanent squadmate whom you can have proper conversations with (Cough* Kasumi and Zaeed *Cough).
However, I still hold that he could be entirely DLC.
Either way it doesn't matter since I got the Collector's Edition on the bag.

No, no, no, you are all doing it wrong. You need to put the money in your toaster, set it on "high" jam that into your CD drive by flattening it with a hammer, throw your computer into your TV, bake your TV at 550 for 35 minutes, eat the TV, sh!t into a paper bag, set the bag on fire, and then put it on your neighbor's doorstep. That should work.

Also, since it appears his dialog and people's reactions to him are in the main games files (the demo at least). That may mean the 600 mb (?) sized download doesn't include that. Making his part in the game (and recruitment mission?) bigger than many expect.

You'd have to go all the way down to my 7th or 8th favourite ME squadmate to find a human (and it'll be one more spot lower than that once we get Prothy), so I'm fairly biased towards the aliens.JeffZero wrote...

For those curious, the other four is Garrus, Mordin, Wrex and Legion.
Also known as the Bro-Team.
