Planning content is not the same as making content. He was most definitely planned and written far ahead of being physically made in the game (as evident from the leaked script... he's even in the story draft, which was written before any of the dialogue in the game).

True, but they had to have made some of the DLC content - namely the content dealing with other characters reactions/interactions to and with the Prothean - during the development of the core game due to the nature of scheduling and budgeting studio time for voice actors (at least, the actors of the main characters who directly interact with the Prothean).

Well yes.

But one thing i want, that him being DLC, wont cripple his amount/quality of dialogue.

I'm really bad at coming up with this sort of thing. Help me out before I write something painfully corny on them.

Then again, Zaeed and Kasumi had bits and pieces in vanilla ME2, as well.

Doesn't that just go to show that they planned their DLC beforehand? It's one thing it it's like LOTSB, being put together after the game is out, but making it alongside the game and released on the same day is a bit too advantageous if you ask me. This is another reason why I'm gonna hold off a bit before I pick it up.

Ok look it from this view Prothy is a 10 dollar dlc, your online pass to play ME3 MP is also 10 dollars because I assume it will be the same price as the Battlefield 3 online pass.  Every new copy comes with an online pass and if your a 360 player you also get 2-3 days of Gold to play ME3 MP.  So essentially the Online pass is the free 10 bucks and the incentive to buy the game new.

Maybe he was not finished  if thats case they could have gone the route  Capcom did with  Heroe vs Heralds Mode in the UMvC  3... they  just released it a free patch up date that added the game mode.

Zaeed was the incentive to buy new. Whether you buy a new or used copy, Javik's mission is still 10 bucks and the pass will be the same price. There's no incentive to buy new.

I only want Prothy in main game so he will be forced on people in a way, if the BSN reflects in anyway what people think of Prothy than people will flat out not buy the dlc.

The majority of the hardcore fans probably wont even touch MP, and those that have 360 and plan to play the mp most likely have passes already. The SP is still the main selling point of the game and stuff like priced day one dlc doesn't sit well.

Multiplayer servers were supposed to go up on the 14th. They went up on the 13th. The demo was supposed to be out on the 17th. It was out on the 16th. 

I think those dates were right.. The point is, Bioware has been pulling a lot of "one day earlier" stunts lately.   

Or it could be another Femshep trailer... and we'll get it in a week or so.

By "passes" you mean the XBOX Live gold accounts, right?

(I'm sorry, I've been playing on the console for three years but I haven't figured out multiplayer yet. So I can't resist the urge to ask these kind of things...)

If I'd have downloaded "From Ashes" the second I saw it I could extracted all the cutscenes and PMed them to people.

Except the Prothean was obviously finished enough that his data (including his voice files) was located in the SP demo's data, which was created before January and before they started moving into the core game's finalization (ie, all the testing and bug hunting before the game goes Gold).

I think I've discovered why Prothy has earned such an important place in my heart so early. I think it's because he is the first new alien to be introduced that wasn't neither designed to be enemy units (Collectors, Vorcha, Yahg) nor to appeal to the female players specifically (Thane).

Sure there are other factors, but think about it.
