Maybe he was not finished  if thats case they could have gone the route  Capcom did with  Heroe vs Heralds Mode in the UMvC  3... they  just released it a free patch up date that added the game mode.

Except the Prothean was obviously finished enough that his data (including his voice files) was in the SP demo, which was created before January and before they started moving into the core game's finalization (ie, all the testing and bug hunting before the game goes Gold).

 

Not disputing that- she asked for a possible reason andi  threw out ...  Its obviously this was completed before release and in there game ... its Shinnangens, bull****,  how ever you want to slice.  What sucks is the now  CE people get pissed because they  paid extra nothing  and SE  are feeling the paid full price and did not get full product..

Moral of the story.. characters as DLC day 1  CE  collectors content ... not such a good a idea.

Yeah, that's what I mean! All new alien species since ME1 were designed with those two things in mind. Prothy will be... Prothy. A Prothean. And he's not here to fill an exotic romance niche like Thane was for "the female players".

Though Prothy may unintentionally appeal to quite a few. In the romantic sense. Like myself.

They kind of failed in this regard. Then again, they did the same with Wrex.

First: I wouldn't say that "they failed", but that they were seriously misguided. And I like Thane. I just don't like how he was sort of included as intended to be "an alien women can find attractive", when we've had an entire race of hot manly Turians in front of our eyes the whole time. Like it was something that needed fixing.

Second: What do you mean when you say "they did the same with Wrex"? That he was designed with female players in mind too?

Yeah she's not going to say a thing about Javik.

Also, it's time we stopped calling him Prothy and used his real name.

For the record: I used "Prothy" on my current signature only temporarily until he is formally introduced. Then I'll change it. But still, maybe we can keep using it affectionately after playing the game. Or not. I don't think Jack fans kept calling her SuZe after the game, after all. Maybe something similar will happen to us.

On topic: Who's gonna pick up the Prothean as soon as possible? I'm probably going to wait a mission or two, unless there is a significant emergency involving the recruitment mission.

I would rush off to get Prothy but I want to recruit Garrus first. Garrus is my bro and he needs to see the phenomenon that is Prothy. I haven't read the leaked script so I have no idea when Garrus will be available.

I can't because I'm getting the standard edition a day before I get teh CE.

I'll probably do the missions up until after the first Council part then do some multiplayer until I can recruit Javik.

I definitely am. The other half of my team will be Ashley, and seeing as we get her immediately, there need be no other stops before I recruit him. After that, he's never leaving Shepard's side. Never! 

As for Javik being the first male alien not made to be attractive to women, I'm pretty sure turians, krogan and salarians weren't designed for their sex appeal, regardless of whether fans find them attractive. And certainly not the hanar, elcor or volus. 

I feel weird referring to him as Javik. It feels like Prothy is his actual name.

Video in a nutshell :

Prothean must be in the game, or available for all bought copies.

Prothy is not Zaeed, so making us pay for Prothy is bad.

Ok look it from this view Prothy is a 10 dollar dlc, your online pass to play ME3 MP is also 10 dollars because I assume it will be the same price as the Battlefield 3 online pass.  Every new copy comes with an online pass and if your a 360 player you also get 2-3 days of Gold to play ME3 MP.  So essentially the Online pass is the free 10 bucks and the incentive to buy the game new.

Zaeed was the incentive to buy new. Whether you buy a new or used copy, Javik's mission is still 10 bucks and the pass will be the same price. There's no incentive to buy new.

Then the situation is similar to Kasumi, except it is available at launch.

I don't like this model, but I'm not ready to pick up a pitchfork yet.  I think ME's team made an unfortunate decision and there are going to be angry people.
