I can imagine someone writing a fic where Femshep interacts with some kind of prothean relic that turns out to be a prothean nano medstation. Normally it ignores non-protheans, but because of Shep's Cipher it thinks she's a prothean with severe physical and genetic defects. The medstation reacts by infusing her with nanobots that "repairs" her into a prothean over time.
In other words, District 9 plot with 100% less racism and violence and 100% more prothean beneath-the-sheets action.

Javik's knees. We are seeing them, right? I mean, are those holes, or a reinforcement made of a different material? Because it kinda looks like it could be Javik's skin.
Oh god why is that so sexy. There are so many things about Javik's design that are so attractive and suggestive, I have trouble believing it was unintentional.

I think they are Javik's knees showing. If you look on the back of his knees, there are holes there as well.
The bluey-green colour matches that of his hands and parts of his face so yes, I think our Prothean is flashing a bit of flesh. And I'm not complaining...
