Don't worry, he looks like he's just chilling out. Shirtless.

I want to draw him wearing some sort of kimono as "casual clothes". Ever since somebody suggested it when the first pics of his armor appeared.

Hehe, *phew*

Oh, that sounds awesome! I'll have to do some research, but that might be something I wanna take a crack at in the future. =>

Broodypants: D'awwh, thank you! <3 You're very sweet.

Guys... I found something. It's kind of sad to read but it's informative. It basically explains why Javik was cut from the game and how a chunk of his story was also left out.

2.2 year development cycle isn't enough.

ACIII is 2 months into it's 3rd year of development, and there are still 6 months to go. THAT'S how you do it - you don't force a studio to churn out AAA material in 2 years. That's how amazing stuff like Javik gets cut and turned into watered down DLC. That's how cool sideplots from the previous games gets cut. That's how endings that should have been amazing turns out really, really ba-

Wait, scratch that last, that's all BioWare's own damn fault.

"Lots of speculation from everyone."

There are some sad revelations in the Final Hours of Mass Effect 3. (Not the best name considering the final hours were the worst).

It meantions how Casey Hudson shot down two parts that the writers loved: #1) The extended Anderson dialog (from Youtube), #2 The StarChild was supposed to answer all of your questions. Casey wanted both of these things shortened. The rest is history (for now).

Speaking of speculation.

Here's a larger version of that thing, I've only seen a tiny version posted.

"Vague terms."

"Ambiguous function."

This is what writers jot down when they lack the imagination to explain their own plot devices.

Hey, give me 1 minute to come up with my own explanation of how the Crucible works and what the endings do:

Destroy - the Crucible sends out a wave of energy tuned to scramble and corrupt Reaper code, avoiding EDI and Legion by targetting the Reaper-specific signatures. The Reapers pretty much suffer a hardware malfunction and shuts down permanently.
Control - the Crucible sends out a wave of energy tuned to alter the Reaper code to obey Shepard, avoiding EDI and Legion by targetting the Reaper-specific signatures. Reapers are "brainwashed" and do Shepard's bidding.

There, I just did Mac Walters job in 1 minute. I did not include Synthesis because there's no reasonable way to explain that without resorting to space magic.

Here here! An ending we would have been satisfied with in two seconds.

Personally Id cut out the Starkid and end it with Shepard dying using his/her last strength to press that button that activates the "destroy all Reapers" or "Reapers are now dead" button

So I was curious about Javik and that shard of his, since the option is paragon in away is there not a way to talk him out from committing suicide?

Yes, choose the lower option. I think he asks Shepard whether it s/he would revisit old memories if s/he could, even if it causes a lot of pain, and you can either answer "Yes" or "No."

Choosing no convinces him that it's not worth it, and he leaves the shard alone.

I shouldve said that better lol. I meant is there a way to let him see it and convince him not to commit suicide

I'm still confused over this.

Bioware was given the green light for an additional five months to tweak the game. So instead of devoting their time to working on the things they hadn't yet completed, they scrapped the story they had been working on for months (years?) and started from scratch. What was the point of that?

They then overhaul his entire role in the game and work on From Ashes for Day 1 DLC. I'm no expert on how this stuff works, but why even commit resources to From Ashes when you could have just completed Javik's original story and put it in the huge day one patch that everyone had to download? I don't get it.

You remove something from the game because there's not enough time and resources and you replace it with something that takes an equal amount of time and resources. AND it was available on release day. What a waste.

To be fair, Javik not being crucial to the story feels more interesting than him being a plot device.

That said, he should have been in the main game and he should have had at least a longer recruitment mission or an additional "loyalty" mission to expand on his story.

*sigh* I don't understand also... I would happily wait next 6 months (well, maybe not happily, but patient). I know they wanted to give us an awesome game as fastest as they can... But what they did? They created this amazing, fantastic, piece of awesomness and at the same time they destroyed in 5 minutes 0.o *sigh*

I just want a new ending.

It depresses me that javik was basically ''dialed'' in. He seems so empty like he was never apart of the game. It doesn't feel right playing with him. you would think a protheon would be more involved.

I can't see Javik voluntarily getting "rescued".

It'd be hilarious. xD

Well. He can still carry Javik back to the ship.

I mean why not.

I'm pretty sure Shepard wouldn't be able to even touch him, let alone carry him to the ship.

But the idea is certainly intriguing....

Javik should have made Shepard his slave and brought back the glory of the Empire.
