Haha I was almost going to write a "no wings" comment in my post. I gotta agree with Laitiel on the previous page. Also I think wings are a bit silly. But if you want a silly picture... maybe we could compromise....

Wings are serious business.

:(

Also,

I lol'd.

I had a dream and Javik was in it. I gave him a hug. I suppose this means I should be part of this thread.

Indeed you should be.

And don't worry about that dream. I can assure you most of everyone else has had a lot more... explicit dreams about Javik.

I have to ask - who came up with the wings theory?
His body is too heavy to be able to fly with them so it is likely that if protheans ever had them, that they got lost during evolution. But then again... space magic.
Or they could be used not to fly but to attract the other gender...

Did you notice that in one conversation with Liara he is more rude than normal and later he apologizes for that and tells her that he 'absorbed' a part of the character of Grunt (he says the person who lived before him in the room, which is Grunt). And I was thinking directly, what else he might have absorbed. Didn't Aria tell you in ME2 (story about patriarch and her) that Krogans have a strong sex drive? Might not be the case for Grunt as he was so young, but who knows.

And something else that crossed my dirty mind:
If Javik would sense (and we know he can do it) that Shepard is interested in him and he understands that Shepard is the best key to destroy the reapers maybe it would be possible to persuade him to help Shepard with "stress relief"... we know Javik would do everything to destroy the reapers. Just a thought.... ;)

I like how you think!

Either way, on the wings thing... I was researching the Collectors' wings for reference for the silly drawing I'm making. I looked up some YouTube clips of ME2 and, well, guys it looks like the wings are just like a holographic thing. Like the omniblade or whatnot. They're glowy and they disappear immediately after they land.

I guess this means Javik could use the same technology, huh?

Oh right, how could I forgot this? The collectors used wings and they could fly. But could be due to the reeingineering/mutation by the reapers.

Hello!
I came across a rather interesting idea the other day while reading an article, so I decided to come here, to check it's validity.
So, is it true that Javik was originally supposed to be the catalyst?

According to the early story draft leaks, yes.

^ This I didn't know... or I've forgotten.
Well, I'm glad they didn't go with that idea. I prefer Javik on the team and in my bed.

Wow. Well, I reckon he could've been both a squaddie and the catalyst.. The last prothean, given the knowledge to wipe out the reapers and avenge his people, too late in his cycle to help...
Would've made more sense than the star brat XP

I also think having to rescue Javik instead of the VI from the Cerberus base would've put some much needed emotional link to that mission.

The idea of Shepard having to ride in and rescue Javik is kinda funny too, teehee.

Because people only ever posted the dialogue leaks, never the story draft leaks.

In the story draft, he's much more plot-important (actually, he's the single most important character in the entire game). On Thessia, he is supposed to activate some kind of artifact relevant to the plot, but Mr. McDouchebag Kai Leng sweeps in and kidnaps him. Fun fact, in that sequence sh!t goes down and Shepard and Co. gets super-wounded, and you have to choose between the VS and Liara - one of them will die.

Oh, and in his recruitment mission, he breaks free by himself and proceeds to slaughter pretty much an entire squad of Cerberus soldiers. Without using anything but his biotics.
