Quickly, come up with a reason why the yahg Shadow Broker would want to kidnap Javik that's not sexual or romantic in nature.

Brainstorming:
>Wants to study his ability to absorb information, perhaps to improve the efficiency of his network
>Found Crucible plans
>Is trying to unlock info from Beacon/Prothean Device
>Wants to study Prothean cryo-stasis tech in order to save himself for the next cycle
>Wants to make Javik his fairy princess sex slave

Basically this...

Actually, Volc's Prothean cryo stasis suggestion is a pretty good idea.

Thought of anything yet, Arcian?

The Cryo-thing was neat, and I might actually use it. Alternatively I thought that kidnapping Javik was only a ruse to draw out Shepard and allow the Shadow Broker to seize him/her as he intended to do in the beginning of ME2 (losing Shep to Cerberus, of course).

Naturally, these ideas are not mutually exclusive - it could both be a "how are bodies affected by long-term stasis?" and "You're here so Shepard will come running for you, right into my genial Shepard-trap"-thing. The Shadow Broker seems like the kind of guy who uses his assets in every way possible even if he initially aquired them for a singular purpose only.

how can you ask for a nonsexual reason or romantic reason with Javik. If it isnt sexual or romantic than it probably doesnt deal with Javik lol

Well the simplest reason I can think of is that he's basically a gold mine of information. Even more so if he's been fighting alongside Shepard like in your story. He could even take Feron's place as a prisoner. (Forced to absorb knowledge. How sinister.)

Sure, if we stick to Mac Walters vision of the Broker. Walters... wrote him in a very confusing way. He wanted the Shadow Broker to be fighting the Reapers, but at the same time he wrote the SB to work with their henchmen... by giving them the only person who has ever been able to stop them. And I don't buy the idea that he doesn't know they are Reaper slaves - I mean, the guy is pretty much a genius that has run everything in the galaxy from the shadows for 60 years without failing and has to realize something is up when the Collectors activites start to surge up dramatically RIGHT after Sovereign is killed.

Plus, as to why the Collectors would deign to work with the person who stole Shepard's body from them in the first place is beyond me, and it makes the Reapers look like idiots. Let's... let's just say I'm not a fan of Walters writing and leave it at that.

I had imagined that both the Shadow Broker and TIM knew the Collectors were going to hit Shepard. So instead of warning Shepard, they both wait and see what happens - the Normandy gets blown up, Shepard falls to a planet in the Mako, emerges severely wounded, the Collectors rush in and finish him/her off while taking massive casualties (think a playable scene similiar to the ending of Reach, where a non-regenerating and cinematically tougher Shepard fights off as many Collectors as possible before succumbing to superior numbers).

They prepare to haul the body off, Shadow Broker forces sweep in, kill the Collector squads and get the body just minutes before Cerberus forces arrive. TIM plots to get the body back, contacts Liara (who's pretty much figuratively handcuffed to Javik at this point) who is in turn contacted by Feron, a drell double agent in the service of the Shadow Broker (actually sent to her BY the Shadow Broker, who knows what Cerberus and Liara is up to, which TIM knows he knows), and the three of them work with Miranda Lawson to get the body back from the Broker. Cue the Redemption comic, which I will rewrite in detail later.

Things happen, and Cerberus ends up with Shepard's body, promising Liara s/he will be safely returned to her in a living condition. Meanwhile, the Shadow Broker gains an interest in Javik, and the Collectors find out that Cerberus is planning to revive Shepard, so they bide their time and stick to the Terminus systems and start harvesting humans for their production line in the galactic core.

Two years later, Liara has received no word whatsoever from Cerberus. Since parting ways with them, she has started a brokering business with Feron and Javik, the latter of which refuses to serve anyone else than Shepard (especially if romanced) and thus has a very strong interest in seeing Shepard brought back to life. The position allows her to keep an eye on the Broker's deals while simultaneously warding herself against the SB, who is kind of pissed that she stole Shepard from him.

Also, I think I have the motive for kidnapping Javik now - since the SB is trying to fight the Reapers and he knows Javik fought them for his entire life back in his cycle, he needs to explore Javik's memories with very high-tech genetic reading technology (think AC's Animus machine, except with Javik's own memories and not his ancestors... although his ancestors memories might be relevant to the SB to find out how the war began) to learn how the Reapers fight so he can direct galactic inventions towards developing anti-Reaper weapons.

Sound reasonable or completely bonkers?

Sounds good.. Better than what we got.

One thing, can The Shadow Broker sell Javik to the Hanar when he's done with him?

Possibly. The Shadow Broker doesn't strike me as the kind of person who is "done" with someone until they are dead, though.

Do not fear, I do plan on making a Kahje mission (possibly in ME2 to secure hanar support for the ongoing arms race) which could potentially involve Javik and a hella lot of hanar shenanigans.

EDIT: Or as I like to call it, "shanaraningans".

'Quickly, come up with a reason why the yahg Shadow Broker would want to kidnap Javik that's not sexual or romantic in nature.'

Because he is like a rare object, his information on his race and his personal accounts of the reapers could be useful. It is more what he represents, he could be a useful bargaining chip.

Also, your idea sounds pretty good. Going to have to re-read through your reboot since you've added more and I lost where I was. XD

Its like 40 pages long at this point, so you have a whole lot of reading ahead of you. Just story drafts, too. Right now I'm working on sidemissions, just short blurbs instead of longer sections like the main missions - did the pre-service/origin missions earlier today and is just about to start writing Liara's mission. Trying to figure out what it's going to be about.

Of course. Here you go.

If you have any feedback at all, please let me know.

EDIT: As a clarification, it's not directly a story-story, but more like a basis for one. I do intend to write a proper fic based on my rewrite once it is complete.

Let me take a wild shot in the dark and assume that Shep will be romancing Javik in the proper fic.
