Ok so based on what blaidfiste and Arcian said, to get "travel the Galaxy" would probably require making him view the shard and not making peace with Liara, that's the only combination left?

Wait, never mind, this doesn't fit. Ugh, too much variables. Someone said that whether you have a romance (no matter with who) or not influences his response at the end?

I spoke to Javik on the citadel (where he meets the hanar), made peace between him and Liara and had him view the shard and he wanted to die at the end.

I am not sure but I think it is the following combination (maybe someone who did it can clarify):

1) to die: just let him watch the shard
2) to live as hanar king: not viewing the shard, meet Javik on Citadel and speak with him but make no peace between him and Liara
3) Book: not viewing shard, make peace between him and Liara (not sure if you shouldn't speak with Javik on the Citadel - it may be that you still get the dialog even if you meet Javik and the hanar on the citadel)
4) traveling the galaxy: not viewing the shard, not meeting him on the Citadel, not making peace between Javik and Liara.

I suppose that he will always want to die if he views the shard and the other dialog is triggered based on meeting him on the Citadel (which makes sense for him thinking to live among the hanar), making peace between Liara and him (so he is thinking about the book) and if you do nothing of that he sees no other alternatives (because he never met the hanar on the citadel and without peace with liara no book writing with him) as traveling the galaxy.

But again, I am not sure - I did not play all alternatives, it is just what I can think of how it is triggered.

Ah ok, than it is not as I thought. Maybe if everyone of us shares their experience we will get this sorted out

I will try something different with a new playthrough, but it will take some time to finish....

I always get the "write a book" response. I'm not really sure what I do. I'm always paragon when talking to Javik.

Did you speak with him on the Citadel? Made peace between him and Liara? Has Javik seen the shard? Maybe if everyone posts the dialog they got and what they did before we can figure it out.

Someone even mentioned it could have to do if you are in a relationship in ME3 or not. I fail to see why this should matter... but anyway, maybe it is a parameter too.

I took every opportunityy to meet with Javik, including the Citadel. I did the paragon interupts on him, didn't let him use the shard, peace with Liara. 

Maybe for the "write a book" response you need to be quite close with Liara also? Not necessarily in a romance, but loyalty earned, certain conversations pursued, ect. 

I'm interested in how to get the Hanar king comment... if it's even possible.

I got the Hanar King quote. I met him on the citadel, he didn't touch the shard, and I took his side over Liara in their argument. I was also playing Renegade, if that changes anything.

Hmm... it might actually. While living like a king amongst the Hanar is........... hilarious, it does also seem a bit renegadeish. 

Actually, it would make more sense if taking Javik's side in the argument cancels out the Jiara friendship. So that would automatically disqualify the "write a book" option. 

We must test our hypotheses. And by we, I mean some other guy.. because I am far too lazy.

I am really going to check this in my current playthrough but I will take some time. And if renegade gives you the hanar king dialog and paragon the book dialog how to get the galaxy travel line? Searching on the www was not helpful at all....

Ok, update:
In my latest playthrough I got the book line and I did the following:
- meet him on Citadel, took paragon interupt
- after Thessia, took paragon interrupt in the confrontation with Liara and sided with Javik ("Javik is right" line)
- he did not view the shard

When I sided with Javik it was the only renegade response I used, normally I use paragon in dialog with him.

So - it seems it is quite more complicated as we thought. Has anyone a renegade Shep for comparison? New ideas? I will try something different in my next playthrough but this will take time...

Im hoping they will make some Prothean related DLCs including Javik to some degree or another. It's a shame that he had to be introduced at the end of the series. I would have liked to get to know him better, form a friendship and even better a relationship. There is so much they could do with him.

Well I dont think ill touch the ME3 MP anytime soon, i dont need to get my readiness up if i dont plan to beat the game anytime soon. But I suppose if we got a DLC that added the Protheans to playable race in MP id be more willing to dust off ME3 again to earn it.
