But it does make sense to give protheans more story before the trilogy is over. I mean, in ME1 they are this sort of underlying presence, we are constantly reminded about them. ME2 has a different feeling, and their mentions are less climatic: the second, super-shrinking sphere from the Firewalker missions, a beacon here and there... But nothing like the ominous feeling we got when we visited Ilos in ME1 for example.
So I'm glad their story isn't over and done with the collectors gone. Hopefully this Prothean squadmate will embody the asskicking epilogue they deserve.

I am the anger of a dead people, demanding blood be spilled for the blood we lost. Only when the last Reaper has been destroyed will my purpose be fulfilled. I have no other reason to exist. Those who share my purpose become allies. Those who do not become casualties.

I agree. I don't understand why they didn't put some spoiler option. I don't think it's an hard thing to implement.

Yeah, having to type out the code every time you want to post or quote a spoiler is kind of a pain.hhh89 wrote...

It's not hard or a pain, but a lot of people tend to forgot. I don't care much about spoiler, so I don't care if someone reveals a part of the game, but some people care about that. And it happens more than one time in the General Discussion forum, which should be spoiler-free.

In another note, I still kinda hope he has tentacles somewhere. I don't know, maybe not as big as the statues on Ilos, but in his face or around or something. They don't have to be movable, just alien looking.
I kinda expect something along the lines of the aliens in District 9, except more ominous looking. Dignified and ancient, you know. Alien.

It would be awesome if he was a "monogendered" dude. Then they could get away with making him male romanceable! Because you know, he wouldn't be a man anymore than asari are women. Which they totally aren't, am I right?

Really? Tentacles go away. D9 aliens should not be in. The Art that i've supported is actually great and shows in what style i would like him to be modelled.

So would that mean with alot of in family breeding Protheans could than become a powerful race once again? Assuming this is the route Bioware takes with the surviving Prothean

Also, there are many different fan-made prothean interpretations. They are all very varied, and they're all great. I was just giving my opinion. I mentioned the District 9 aliens as an example of a good, insect-like species, and how tentacle like features can be implemented in a species without them being their main feature.
[edit] DarthSliver, I think that will not be the case with Prothy. And I was sort of joking.
There is so much we don't know yet that could give things a completely different turn, like for example the whole "protheans were a faction of different species" thing that's been discussed before. I still haven't decided which version I prefer. I mean, it does make sense, like some sort of alien Roman empire. But if that's the case, it could have been referenced before in any way. I don't know... The speculation is killing me.

Aliens... You know Humans are the only non-alien species?
Also - Protheans were many species in one empire. If the spoiler is removed from thsi thread - then it is so. but the script confirms it.

His name is P - the letter, not the bodily excrement. He regularly french kisses death and makes it flustered, but other than that he's not in a very romantic mood. Zegema Beach? You mean before or after the protheans blew its sun to eliminate the Reaper encroachment on the planet?Hellbound555 wrote...

I think they simply hadn't figured out a good name for him yet, because it sounds silly that he can't remember his own name, unless that's a side effect of the stasis sphere.

Now, that would be silly.
To be unnamed after all those memorable battles and conflicts he's endured and he has not earned a single title? Come on.

I still think that his name should be "Prothy". It's how I've thought of him for so long, giving him any other name would just seem weird to me.
"You don't remember your name? How about we just call you Prothy for short?"
"(deadpan) Very amusing."
I actually did some research, and I believe my post in the Central E3 thread from 7 months ago may be the earliest usage of the name Prothy here on the BSN. Not 100%, but possibly.
Linky.

I know it's difficult switching from a fan nickname to an official one. Jack, for example. Until shortly before release, she was referred to as "Subject Zero" and nothing more. I remember that the nickname "Suze" was suggested, but nope, Jack. Which we got used to in the end.
I trust that they'll come up with a suitable name for the Prothean, just like they did with Legion. So far the only prothean name we've heard was "Ksad Ishan", or "Vigil" if you count the VI. I'm not worried about that.

Of course Prothy shouldn't become his official name in-game - it's a nonsense nickname I came up with in a spur of the moment thing during E3 - but it would be very cool if BioWare referenced it in some way, shape or form.Nissun wrote...
Personally, I wouldn't like for "Prothy" to become official. It reminds me too much of the word "frothy", and I strongly dislike that word for some reason.
