Not to mention that every time I see someone whine about something BioWare is doing, their own suggestions often turns out to be much, much worse.

Which also a part of the point. Some people don't know s**t about making a game.

The "bring the entire squad back, all 17 of them" comes to mind here.

Budgettimeconstraintsdeadlinelimitedresourcesworkhourscrunchtimeovertime.

Indeed. All things the BSN has a very loose understanding of, it seems. Every time I see someone suggest something like that, I just facepalm.

Yup. I don't have a problem with people taking issue with things Bioware does or making other suggestions, but for the latter, they have to be realistic ones. "Bring back every single squadmate" is ridiculous, however nice it would've been. Of all the things that were/are possible, that is not on the list. They'd have had to hire a lot more new people than they already did, and probably have made a lot more money off of ME2 first. Sure, ME2 did well, but not infinitely well.

Besides, for me, Prothy is one new squadmate that would be absolutely worth it. I'd give up Jacob for him in a heartbeat. He has a greater significance to the Mass Effect series as whole than almost anyone. He's on the same level as the VS, Liara, and Garrus/Tali in that respect--important. He represents a highly desirable glimpse into the past.

I would also replace Jacob for Prothy. Then again, I would replace Jacob for a lot of things. Like a harpoon, or some toast.

Regardless, Prothy is bound to be one of the best characters in the series, on par with Mordin and Legion.

IF Prothy is real(and after reading OP thoughts I think he is) I would welcome him into the squad. He would be a great addition to he crew even if he dies at the end, which I believe he will by nobly sacrificing himself to save Shepards life and to join his people in whatever the Prothean afterlife is.

Prothy IS real - it's been confirmed by the leaked script.

Who says that Protheans are theists? I don't remember reading anything in the background information that indicates they had a religion. The only thing that links them to a religion at the moment is the Hanar basing one around them.

I'm a member of a sentient species. I don't have a religion. Why should Prothy be any different?

Prothy is an individual, not a species though, so I see no reason for him personally to believe in an afterlife. Besides, not all ME species seem to be very religious. The only ones that do seem particularly religious are the asari, drell, and hanar.

But it is possible.

You can't debunk that until we actually see him in ME3 and says "Yes, I'm an atheist" or something like that.

I wasn't debunking it; I was just saying that it is by no means certain that Prothy would believe in an afterlife, which that poster up the page seemed to suggest.

in the fall of earth trailer if the person saying "we need a plan to stop them" is a prothean., to me they sound like native Americans. so ive just had the metal image that they look like the native martians off of futurama.

They're not. Their attitude about money is the same, though.

I thought Quarians were the space Jews?

Also, what the f*ck guys, you take this thread and turn it into a pro/anti religion discussion? In less than a page? Seriously, how the f*ck does that happen?

I would encourage you all to stop right now and take it somewhere else. Getting back to the topic at hand:

What does it do? Where did you hear it rumored? Will it be awesome? Well, I know it will be, but what kind of awesome are we talking about?
