I'm looking forward to seeing the reactions to Prothy once the game hits. Prothy is definitely going to be a popular guy, if not for his personality then for the fact that he's a biotic that is not Liara. If he's as fun as we're working up to be, he'll be right up there with Wrex, Legion, and Mordin.

Funny; I was thinking the same thing. Those other three you mentioned (along with Prothy now!) are probably my favourites after the (as I've seen them referred to here) so-called "Favouritism Trio".

Eh, I like Tali and Liara, but they aren't my super-faves or anything. Brokarian, however, is right up there with my Brogan, Brobot, and Brofessor.

Now you've got me imagining Wrex cast as one of the POWs in "Hogan's Heroes". 'Tis a strange thought indeed.

Plus, we need balance in squadmates and so far only Liara is biotic squadmate, if Kaidan is dead.

I haven't read the entire thread nor the leak, so forgive me for asking pretty obvious questions. I see you still refer to this character as Prothy. Does Prothy have a name other than Prothy? Is Prothy male or female?

To be honest, I don't really care if Prothy is DLC or not. The ME3 squad has so much awesomeness on it anyway that if Prothy is in the main game I don't really see myself using whatever the DLC character is much, if at all. Then again, Bioware could surprise me; I did like and use Kasumi a lot more than I was expecting to, after all.

Prothy is male, but he does not have an officially confirmed name. He may be called Javrik as derived from his skillset, but that is not reflected anywhere else in the script so it's not certain.

We use Prothy because... well, it's short, easy to pronounce and it sticks. Unless his real name is a mouthful or never revealed, I think people'll continue to call him Prothy.

Well, we stopped calling Fenris Meg. I think Prothy will go out of style as well.

Can I ask three quick questions. I'm new to the site and this support thread caught my eye, so I thought I would check it out and these were the questions that formed after reading the comments here.

1. We're assuming that the prothan will be the squadmate (my suspcions as Engineer this time) if so, what sort of personality do we have thus far for him or her? I'm assuming him since it all the hints in the games and the info regarding the Prothan seem to be that it's male, And, if as some people are suggesting that he's going to be a more renagade spock character do you think he'll fit into the dynamic of the ship?

2. Reaction from the Hanar and Drell? Given that they worship these beings as gods, do you think that the characters like Thane or Koylat would have to keep the secreat of the Prothan not being as god like as the Hanar believe them to be? Or do you think that the Prothan will be more welcoming to the idea of being seen as god like?

3. What do you feel about the idea of the Prothan being like the Turian Councillor? Sort of a jerk that thinks that he knows best? What do you think you will feel about the character should the character become a jerk?

Odd question, do you know where the term "Space Chuthul" started from for this character?

I don't like it. The whole thing with the protheans was that they were ancient and obscure, having one as a squadmate takes the mystique about the species as a whole away from it all...

I said the same thing when I heard about a Geth squaddie, but Legion, IMO,  enriched the Geth lore we knew up until that point.
