"Mysterious Elf Guy"

Thank god. For a second there I envisioned some kind of horrifying crossdressing incident that had gotten thankfully lost in the retail version of DA2.

Can I ask three quick questions. I'm new to the site and this support thread caught my eye, so I thought I would check it out and these were the questions that formed after reading the comments here.

1. We're assuming that the prothan will be the squadmate (my suspcions as Engineer this time) if so, what sort of personality do we have thus far for him or her? I'm assuming him since it all the hints in the games and the info regarding the Prothan seem to be that it's male, And, if as some people are suggesting that he's going to be a more renagade spock character do you think he'll fit into the dynamic of the ship?

2. Reaction from the Hanar and Drell? Given that they worship these beings as gods, do you think that the characters like Thane or Koylat would have to keep the secreat of the Prothan not being as god like as the Hanar believe them to be? Or do you think that the Prothan will be more welcoming to the idea of being seen as god like?

3. What do you feel about the idea of the Prothan being like the Turian Councillor? Sort of a jerk that thinks that he knows best? What do you think you will feel about the character should the character become a jerk?

Odd question, do you know where the term "Space Chuthul" started from for this character?

1:Renegade.
2: Worship, Awe. Seen as a god? He's renegade ;)
3:  Turian Councilor is a jerk, with immense amounts of butthurt involved. Prothy's a badass.

I don't like it. The whole thing with the protheans was that they were ancient and obscure, having one as a squadmate takes the mystique about the species as a whole away from it all...

Don't take this personal, because it really isn't, but when people say that their thought is almost always "It will prove my headcanon wrong".

Give Prothy a chance. He has an amazing story to tell.

I said the same thing when I heard about a Geth squaddie, but Legion, IMO,  enriched the Geth lore we knew up until that point.

This Prothean will more than likely do the same thing.

Besides, the team needed more aliens anyway. We've had more than enough humans (8 so far), and I don't think bringing on "Krogan #3" would be a good choice or really add anything.

And not suffer same fate as Legion.

Being recruited late in game and have little with him.

Eh, I like Tali and Liara, but they aren't my super-faves or anything. Brokarian, however, is right up there with my Brogan, Brobot, and Brofessor.

And now I'll have a Brothean.

Agreed Brokarian, Brogan, Brobot, Brofessor, and Brothean will be my favorite characters ever

Why do I see a scene where Shepard has to sort of talk him out of takiing over the Hanar homeworld.

Prothy: Ah yes I am your god, bow before me. *Lighting thunder gimmick*
Shep: Ahem, we do have a mission to complete first.
Prothy: Right sorry, After we have saved the galexy your god shall return....and bring you the remains of our enemies.
Shep: *Facepalm*

Didn't really have a problem with Legion, the Geth were pretty straightforward and not uplifted by obscurity the way proteans were, we knew basicly nothing about proteans in ME1&2 we knew plenty about Geth (even if we didn't know anything about the True Geth) during ME1.

Reading this thread all the time makes the wait for ME3 hard. I cant wait to get Prothy in ME3 than talk to him to death until I get everything he knows out of him. Also if the script thing is anything to go by him and Legion better get along. But my biggest fear with Prothy is that Liara will leave me for him and Id have to go back and kill him for that on playthroughs that my shepard likes Liara at least lol.

That won't happen. It's pretty clear if you read most of the dialogues.

It'd be a pretty dumb move to place a DLC character that far back i the story as well.

Yep.  And it was nothing like my Prothean headcanon thought it would be.  And boy oh boy, do I love Bioware for it.

Shepard: You've got a minute to talk?

Prothy: Of course, youngling.

Shepard: Tell me more about the extinction of the Protheans, and how the Reapers exterminated your species.

Prothy: Ah, yes, "Reapers".
The immortal race of sentient starships allegedly waiting in dark space. We have dismissed this claim.

That would be golden.

O_O;;;

Mass Effect 4: War of the enkindled! You must stop the Hanar and their Enkindler god from taking over the universe.

Why is it every time I see the word Enkindler I think of, you know, the kindle device with prothean limbs and four eyes. Posted Image

Prothy as love intrest...*Moment of a lot of r34 art and Davy Jones jokes run through head* I have a very bad feeling about that idea. Posted Image

That might be very interesting. I wonder what the Council will think of that idea.

Turian: Ah yes the "Enkindlers" No doubt this whole uprising by the "Reapers" was your plans to make yourself out to be more sympathic. No matter we will deal with your "diplomacy" in our own way.

or what if the protheans decide to replace the current council to really show order in the universe and also make the crew of the normandy honorary soilders, warriors?

also shepard and anderson would be retired from the alliance and this would give more opertunity tointroduce new charachters
