Also, does anyone else think that the top right design in this page:

...kinda looks like he's wearing a cowboy hat? I love that outfit, I just can't unsee the cowboy hat now.

Nah, these are just different concepts of his head-shell

Retcon.

Ohh here it begins... Would you really preffer if Collectors & Protheans looked NOTHING alike as if it would be the case if they made Prothy look like statues on Ilos?

I would actually much prefer if he looked similar to the Ilos statues.

Wait, I forgot, I disagree with the common opinion, that means I'm objectively wrong.

I would prefer it if the portrayals of the races was consistent. We've seen several Prothean statues and the visions and they look nothing like the Prothean squadmate.

Did Collectors look anything like Prothenas? No, but so what? They were heavily modified by the Reapers anyway. (and it was a lousy twist that had no real effect on anything)

You still think this guy is DLC? I mean Neither Kasumi or Zaeed was in the artbook I got for ME2.

Even when you heavily modify something, there has to be some consistency. Collectors looked absolutely nothing like the statues on Ilos

I have to agree. Why bother even have the statues in ME 1 if they're worthless?

Hey, I would have been down with that too. I like what we got though, which is relatively good enough for me.

I do so hope those statues are explained.

im more interested to see what the mission will be because how cool would it be to build the conduit as a prothean?

I think the answer to that depends heavily on the answers to the following two questions, neither of which am I in possession of the answer for:

1.) Is there someone we didn't yet hear about listed in the 'Allies' section for Art of the Mass Effect Universe? If not, then the Prothean is probably still the DLC character by process of elimination.
2.) However, there's another factor. Was Zaeed given a full page in the ME2 artbook? If he wasn't, then hey, who knows.

No. You're not crazy. He has a manly face, and in that picture, a manly, badass expression. It's perfectly natural.

Thanks Jeff & Nissum! ^_^

I agree with the bold 100%, that was my first reaction when I saw it.

He looks fierce, unafraid, confident, and a total bad-ass. I can't help but swoon a little. :P

I had the same reaction, too. Well, replace "a little" with "a lot" and "swoon" with "lost my sh*t".

I think the art piece is kind of meh... His mouth and goat eyes really don't do it for me. If his mouth was more in line with a protoss, that would be badass.

It's not like those statues could have been modeled after the previous Prothean race or another race entirely.

No, that would make far too much sense for BSN. In with the complains about retcons, inconsistencies and bad writings. God knows we haven't gotten enough of that yet.

You're assuming that the Ilos statues were actually Protheans (which, as we find out in ME3, wasn't the case and that those statues were most likely the ones of the race that existed on Ilos long before the Protheans, but were wiped out by the Reapers).

or maybe the statues were just there because the devs havent thought of maybe throwing in the idea of a prothean in any of the future titles.

the closest thing to the collectors was the eden prime beacon when you get the vision and in me2 we learn that yea the collectors actually have a real look.

or maybe the protheans had those statues because they themselves believed in a higher power : shrugs:

Wow, I'm kinda glad I wandered in here today.

First off, Prothy looks like a badass. Though I don't think him and my mainShep will get along very well (merciful woman that she is, bless her. XD), I think it's about time we got a character in that knocked Shepard around for being a "softie" vs. just "you're awesome, Shepard!" I'll be interested to see what the backstory on him is, and how BioWare is going to close the discrepancy gap between what he looks like and what we've seen on Ilos and in Shepard's visions. Overall, very cool.

EDI...oh EDI. Lol. I love EDI's character, but I think giving her an autonomous form was a massive mistake. (Disclaimer: I'm not just saying that because I'm a Joker/Shepard shipper. XD) I would have preferred a Cortana-like holographic interface (never was a fan of the "blue ball") to help her be more expressive, but not necessarily roam the ship/be a squaddie (and how they're going to justify that, I have no clue...EDI is equipped with starship defense algorithms, not physical, coordinated humanoid combat abilities). However, I'm glad she has a very "android" look to her versus a "Number Six" look: I was concerned about that point when the pictures of Eva surfaced. In all actuality....she looks very much like my Shepard. Lol.

I looked up what a protoss looks like and sure, that would have been cool. I like this too though. Either way would work for me.

Not really. You said that you 'prefer' or would prefer it if he looked like the Ilos statues. That's perfectly fine.
Saying that he should look like it and that what BioWare is doing is in complete defiance to what is already set in stone (which it really isn't seeing as we don't actually know what the statues were and the leaked script explains a possible difference in looks) is what makes one objectively wrong.

I like what he looks like, but I would also have like the Ilos statue look, although I think that would have been far too husk-like.

I did agree with you there until i looked at the script more closely. There is an explanation given on who the cthulhu people were...

Either they were Inusannon, the race that inhabited Ilos before Protheans(they apparently build the facility on the ruins of their cities). Or, more likely, a Subject race that also called themselves protheans, since Prothy says his peopel conquered the galaxy and intergrated many species into their empire which all eventually started to call themselves "protheans"(Prothy himself still refers to other species in his time by their original names like the "Zha" and the "Oravores").

i think she looks great and i do get a star wars vibe from it when it comes to the twi'leks
