I do believe that crossover needs to be canonized.

Hmm, Jacob can be rabbit with his whining about everything.  Liara can be piglet because she's innocent and scared in the beginning.  Mordin is a shoe in for owl.   Wrex can be the heffalump . . .

Hey, thanks for the compliment! Yours are always great too.

That's a really cool alternative, I have to say. I'd dig it just as easily, I really would. An excellent implementation of the "your decisions matter" thing too, since you'd be guiding her in one direction or the other on a mission of discovery opposite her mission of self-discovery. As she learns more about herself, about the ups and downs, highs and lows of us 'simple organic folk', she'd come to a well-educated conclusion and Shepard -- or rather, the player -- would be engaging in some nifty critical thinking as well.

Whichever character is out-of-character -- I haven't read the leaks, although I've heard tidbits so I might well have a hunch -- I feel fairly confident that the majority of ME3 will be great.

Well thanks! Yay for compliments.

It's days like these I wonder if I should be writer instead of a pilot/aerospace engineer. XD I like how you were able to influence Garrus in ME1, and I think it would be great to be able to do that for EDI...mentor her in the ways of individuality and organic existence. That's the biggest argument me and other fans (mostly other Jokermancers, but others as well) have against giving EDI autonomy like they are in ME3. It's too much too soon. It's like we escape Earth, go to Mars, then "Oh hai! EDI has a new body!" Though, I'm sure there will be some conversation options to be had here, but I still think it's a huge decision that's made too quickly. I guess it was a good excuse to get another tech squaddie into the game.

I just realize there should probably be a dedicated EDI thread for this. Lol. I can't recall seeing one... I know there's an EDI group, but it's been inactive for a while. I have a feeling, though, it's going to become necessary.

Hey, that's still a rather nifty job to have. Funnily enough, I'm partially pursuing writing. I'm making sure my course load is chock full of creative writing courses and such as I go for my AA, then when I transfer to Uni I'll make an informed decision on where to go after that. One of my other passions is actually acting/voice acting, so one way or another I may well end up doing something related to what we're all obsessing over.

But still, man. Pilot/aerospace engineer. Whew. Excellent.

Aaaanyway, "too much too fast" is a perfectly valid concern, yeah. And as for EDI getting more of a devoted group... Well, im considering getting one rolling shortly. But my days are usually quite busy. College and work, yo. College and work.

And the galaxy is the Hundred Acre Wood?

IT ALL MAKES SENSE. :o

@ JeffZero - It would be a lot cooler if there were more jobs to be had and if engineering classes didn't kick my behind so much. XD Flying's a fun gig, though. I'd never do it commercially because it's a glorified babysitting job (thank you, automation) and I'd probably die of boredom. The real excitement in aviation is when things crash...maybe I'll be an NTSB investigator one of these days. (Yes, I am sick and twisted in the head. Lol.) Or maybe I'll end up writing for BioWare randomly...because I am pretty good at it, and acquiring a degree for it wouldn't be that bad. I am totally jealous of you being able to take creative writing classes...oh, it makes me miss high school so much...

Edit: Re: EDI group/thread... I'd be more than happy to help you. I'm afraid to start a thread myself given my Shoker leanings and the possibility no one would take me seriously, but I'd definitely be willing to help you organize an OP. Same goes with groups. I know there is an EDI fan group (I'm a part of it) but the leader/creator hasn't been on in a while...

Armor designed by Georgia O'Keeffe.

Although O'Keeffe is one of my favorite painters, I cannot deny the, erm, "vulvic" imagery of her work.

After seeing Prothy and growing accustomed to seeing a non Cthulu Prothean as canon, my anticipation has amplified tenfold. The armor really ties his design together, and is bound to enhance the scenes involving his biotics and sword training with Vega. Anticipation matrix... Overloading... System error!

I still don't know about Prothy, but EDI on the other hand, I think she can't be an optional squadmate. I mean, if Tali and Garrus died in the suicide mission, Kaidan on Virmire, and your Shepard isn't a tech class, then you would have absolutely no character with tech skills, right?

That's a very good point, since it sounds like BW has set up James, Liara, and EDI as the only three "unkillable" squadmates in the game so that you're never completely missing the three basic class types (Combat, Biotic, and Tech).

I'm still flipping back and forth whether or not Prothy is indeed the DLC character.... my gut tells me that he's the DLC squadmate, but it also thinks that he'll be FAR better intergrated into ME3's story and character interactions than Zaeed or Kasumi ever were in ME2.

OH BAD ASS! DUDE, THIS IS SO BAD ASS! I hope this is what they look like!

Seriously, this is my favorite prothean ever! I really like the closeness to the collector too.

:o:O:O:O:O:O

That does look pretty cool.

Is this guy still slated as DLC?

I'm surprised how close all the designs came to the final product.

Wait. He sword trains with Vega?!? *faints and dies happy*

My anticipation for both these characters have reached a state of Nirvana, like seriously I better be able to sit in and watch them sword train!!

Is it Prothy that is teaching Vega to sword play or the other way around?

Been trying to think of who would make a great voice actor for the Prothean.... not sure why this popped up into my head, but if Bioware managed to get someone like Patrick Stewart to voice him, I think I might damn well do this:

First; I'm going to say how much I like the artwork, but I'm not digging his model; the cheekbones are really severe, too angular.

Second; His armor sets are gorgeous, though I think I'm a little biased there.

And lastly; I think it shows that Bioware isn't a big fan of continuity; yes, we were never once told explicitly that the Ilos Statues were Prothean, and I have mentioned earlier the real possibility that they are of the Inusannon; the race that colonized Ilos far before the Protheans;

However; ever since ME1, we have been constantly referred to the Statues' appearances when it came to the Protheans; the visions, the statues. the ME2 codex entry, and even ME2's Genesis Comic.

Regarding the Beacon's Vision: How would the Protheans know how the Inusannon looked when they were being destroyed by the Reapers? Why would they use those images even if they did? Wouldn't they simply broadcast their own race being killed?

Regarding Genesis: Once again, we see the vision on Eden Prime, and once again, in the upper right we see what is quite clearly the upper portion of an Ilos Statue's head. Genesis was released after ME2's completion, which means Bioware had already created the Collector appearance, and probably, the Prothean story as well. Yet they still signed off on Darkhorse's version.

To summarize: As much as I enjoy this art, it fails to pay any respect toward what Bioware has done in the past.

On a side note: EDI's look is not nearly as sexualized and stupid as I was fearing it was going to be; my only problem is her "Hair," if her body is supposed to be an "Infiltration Unit," complete with synthetic skin, wouldn't she wear a wig? Why would she have what looks like two iron horns coming out of her head?

Are we sure that it was an Ilos statue's head? I always thought that that particular image looked like a Reaper's "face" super-imposed over a planet. :?

Also, to be fair (and blunt), the Dark Horse "Genesis" comic was full of a fair bit of inaccurate sh*t.... or do I have to bring up the "As beautiful as she was intelligent" crap again?

I posted earlier a comparison between the Genesis Vision and the Codex from ME2, they're very much the same thing. Its on page 57 of this thread.

Also on that page (I believe.) was me saying that yes, as we all are unfortunately aware, Darkhorse's artists are... Questionable, but their art always depicts what Bioware created in their own games. Like Wrex, his face looks like it was run over by a passing car, but its still Wrex; armor, eyes, head-plate, its all there. Like that Liara picture you've posted; as funny as it is, its still visually Liara.

There's a difference between poorly replicating something, and making something up.

Then I still stand by my opinion that the "thing" in the upper right corner looks nothing like an Ilos statue and (to me, anyway) resembles more of the front "face" of a Reaper imposed over a planet.

It's not like those statues could have been modeled after the previous Prothean race or another race entirely.

No, that would make far too much sense for BSN. In with the complains about retcons, inconsistencies and bad writings. God knows we haven't gotten enough of that yet.

Just because you like it that doesn't stop it from being a retcon.

I love when BSN uses that word. Just proves how ignorant you are.

It'd be a retcon if there was a established fact that the Protheans looked like those statues on Ilos. Which there wasn't.

There were clues about those statues in a vision originating from, where else, Ilos. They could have just included those statues as a point of reference. That's it. There was absolutely nothing that said that the Protheans the Reapers eradicated looked like those statues.

Despite that none of the reapers we've seen have such eyes, and that I very clearly pointed out why it looks like a statue? "Nothing like," is rather extreme considering.

I'm not attacking you, but the similarities a pretty big, bordering on blatant.
