Anyway I think he's going to be in everyones game, due to how important he was in the leaks, but you'll only be able to take him off the ship if you have the DLC.

A retcon is something previously established in the story magically becoming false. It was never outright said what the Protheans looked like.

The statues on the prothean world looked like cthulhus. The prothean visions from the prothean beacons in ME1 and ME2 looked like cthulhus and the codex itself used one of the statues for it's picture of the protheans.

For all intents and purposes the cthulhu people were the protheans. It seems however Bioware scrapped that and went with this new design. Retcon.

And honestly I'm not going to bother with this particular debate as I'm certain the people who deny it can not, and will not be swayed.

I mostly agree with this comment, but there's still the possibility of there being several different prothean races- this would lessen the blow of the retcon.

And according to leaked script, that's the case.

Plus it makes more sense for there to be multiple races present at the time than it would having the last cycle be the only one where everyone ends up developing space exploration near-simultaneously.

Cortez has brown hair.

Also, we seen Shepard landing with Anderson to some place.

It's probably last mission in Seattle-Vancouver and Shepard is giving last speech to resistance fighters, his squadmates and soldiers who he gathered through entire game.

A renegade Prothean? That's interesting, it's not what I would do... But also is something that I didn't expected. I always imagined him as some kind of a "Space Gandalf" (Wise old man with huge knowledge that can kick your ass on the battlefield). On the other hand... I heard that he can be renegade and say renegade like things. Waking up to your whole species gone would make anyone pissed.
