It's for a pretty spoilery reason involving ancient asari history and a long-kept secret.Gormark wrote...
I was reading that he will not really like Liara got it to do because she is a asari, or is it more because she see's a prothean that is still alive and wants to study him like there is no tomorrow? I mean i bet she will just be like omg and start pulling his armor and face or something like that.

I'm actually really happy they decided to tell us why, despite the Salarians are obviously more tech-savvy, the Asari were the first to discover the Citadel, by explaining what exactly the Protheans left behind that gave the Asari such an advantage. Is it stated in the script? I'm too lazy to go mining through it again. ;P

I don't remember, but it wasn't a cache like on Mars. More like a direct intervention, a la the hanar. Enough data was left behind afterwards that our blue friends could basically mooch off it whenever they were lagging behind everyone else technologically.

I know Prothy Never Cries, but I imagine if he ever saw the remains of a Collector, the poor bastard would ask for some privacy, then quietly break down once everyone had left the room.BentOrgy wrote...
It wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't.... Surprised, lol. Prothy was born toward the end of the war, and by that time his people had already been enslaved. butchered, and generally destroyed by the reapers. The likely case is that tthe Protheans had begun their transformation while Prothy was still alive; so while not Collectors entirely, he probably saw what was coming.
Just another reminder of how everything he's ever known and loved is gone forever. I wonder if he has any survivor's guilt. I mean, they chose him to be put in stasis because he was one of the best warriors they had, so maybe part of himself hates how he couldn't give that strength to someone else, how he couldn't help the ones he cared about be strongth enough to be with him now...
Maybe that's why he's so obsessed with the "cosmic imperative." I know that ruthless Darwinism was the cornerstone of his culture anyway, but maybe blaming those that were lost for being so weak helps him transfer that guilt a little bit.
I don't know--I skipped over a lot of his lines so I could at least have a few surprises. We'll see in the game, eh?

Well, from the sounds of it, we'll be able to change the weapon loadout for our squadmates as well in addition to Shepard, so we should be able to give him whatever two weapons that we want.Drone223 wrote...
Since prothy will be the vanguard of the squad I'm expecting him to use a shotgun at least though I'm also hoping that he will also use an Assalt rifle instead of a heavy pistol, the shotgun/heavy pistol combo in ME2 was useless if you don't have the GPS
That said, certain characters have beneficial passives that increase certain weapon class's damage - like Garrus and Ashley, who's later passives can be evolved to increase assault riffle and sniper riffle damage - so perhaps certain weapons will be more suited for the Prothean (just depends on the nature of his passive class's evolution Ranks).

I would say that he would take the intial news that same way Aang took it when he first foward that all the Airbenders were dead... well maybe not as hard considering that Aang was 12 - how would expect a 12 year old to react to news that the only world he knew was dead.
I could anger at first then alot of apathy and not really caring about his own well being... like really there is no point for him any more.
Honestly there is a complete range of emotions that Prothy is going to go through.

But seriously, I'm hoping for a "Breakdown," scene myself; it doesn't have to be heart-shattering, or over the top dramatic (Vader: "Noooooo!") but a quiet, powerful, deep realization that, as you said, everything he's ever known, everyone he ever loved, is less than ash after 50,000 years.
It would certainly add depth to who very easily could be a standard Renegade-elitist-jerk-soldier character. Like Jack, and her eventually letting down her emotional walls to Shep, (Provided Shep wasn't a callous "He, lets bang," ****.) she shows another powerful, less psychotic side to herself. Which I very much appreciated.
So, here's hope for a "I cry on the inside, just don't spread it around," Prothy.
EDIT: Wait.... Goddamnit isn't censored, but a.s.s.h.a.t is?

Don't screw this up Bioware, many sci-fi writers dream of writing characters such as these
Harbinger is obviously Freeza. Both are kind of gay as well. "Preserve Shepard's body if possible"

Abridged Series jokes aside I am absolutely certain this guys will sort of elitist and speak about his race as the greatest thing ever with everyone else being monkey's with guns. Even better if he used to be some sort of royalty.
This guy will probably sound like the Arishock or Sten and have this air of arrogance around him
Then Majin Reaper comes along and Shepard has to use the EEZO Bomb to detroy him forever

Well, he might not be quite like Vegeta in that regard, but he throws fun at other races.
Particularly the asari for a pretty amusing reason.

I hope it's not sexism. Sexism is such an everyday problem that I would hate for it to appear in my SPACE ADVENTURE. Maybe the Asari abused some top secret Prothean tech they found

yeah I doubt it's sexism.
