I can't see the Prothean not having a slot on my team. I wonder how long into the game it willl take you to recruit him?

He is possibly one of the only teammates that can actually outshine Shepard, at least when it comes to fame in the ME universe.

I'd say...around 3/5 into the game until you can recruit him.

That's the most depressing thing I've heard all week.

Granted, I don't know that much about the mission structure in ME3, so I could be wrong.

I hope so. I still think that we should be able to recruit any of our team members from close to the start. I'm still irritated at how long it took to get Tali and Thane (and even more so with Legion) in ME2.

I was thinking about it, and I think Steve Blum(the voice of the Shadow Broker) would do a good voice job for Prothy. May just be me who thinks this.

To the inusannon theory people:

If they are the statues of inusannon, why are inusannon in the prothean visions?

They are more likely a subject race that called themselves protheans...

:sigh:

spoilers spoilers spoilers

The tentacle-faced statues on Ilos are not, I repeat NOT, Protheans. They were a primitive race that the Prothean empire conquered, similar to how the Spanish conquered the Aztecs and Incas in real life. The reason why the Conduit's research lab on Ilos was not detected by the Reapers 50,000 years ago was because the Protheans disguised it as the ruins of this primitive race, a race that the Reapers assumed was already destroyed.

You got a point there, and what about the ancient spacefaring race that shot the Derelict Reaper? they obviously not the Protheans.

Blum would be an incredible choice, but what with already voicing Grunt, that bridge member (Fredricks? Hadley?) side roles he'll probably be doing, (Like Wilson) not to mention the other games he's in at the moment, I think he had a lot to do at the moment.

However, Crispin Freeman would be an excellent choice; veteran voice actor with that dark, smooth, deep voice that just bleeds power.

Freeman would be awesome (though I'm kinda pulling for him to be Kai Leng, as far as my "ME voice-actor" wishlist goes) - another good choice would be Jamieson Price, who also has a very deep, distinctive voice and has done a ton of VO work.

I'm curious, is the Prothean squaddie going to have a proper conversations with Shep aboard the Normandy, or will it be like Kasumi/Zaeed again?

You can have actual conversations with him.

Marvellous! It would've been a waste not to have proper conversations for such an interesting character. ^_^

i imagine the prothean's personality to be regal, maybe even a bit snobbish. i don't know, he just gives me that impression somehow.

prothean: shepard, there is a matter of utmost importance i must convey to you.

shepard: what is it?

prothean: your blue skinned vassal keeps invading my person's private space, order it to cease immediately.

shepard: ... i should go.

I laughed. I so support a conversation like this in-game.

Edit:

You know, if I think that part of the Prothean warning about the Reapers, which is the communication that became Shepard's "vision" (Shepard's vision was nothing more than how he/she interpreted the Prothean communication, not some supernatural thing), was "hey, we know how the Inusannon died out now. We're freaking doomed." That would be why the Inusannon showed up in the vision.

Of course, this is yet another fan theory.

The second leak was a series of .txt files that are all dialogue and code. Attempting to open these .txt files in MS Word will crash the program because it is over 20,000 pages long.

No, it is not 20,000 pages long. That's f*cking ridiculous. With all the formatting junk, it's 4600'ish pages long. I know that because I actually opened the damn thing in Word and checked the page count. Remove the formatting junk and we're down to maybe 600-800 pages - which is about what you would expect from an early game script.
