Lol, the original post went off topic and fell apart pretty much right away, either I worded things awkwardly (which has happened) or the post wasn't well recieved. Either way, I dare not continue in hopes that things get normal, they never get normal. Lol.

I like the one where Fenris does it with a pack of mabari.

Ummmm, yes, yest it is. Sure.

Or it could be about your opinion on whether certain charcters make you more defensive then others, or what charcter you noticed gets bashed more.

Being about porn would make the thread better though.

*facepalm* Ohh boy I can see this going nowhere fast.

I heard there was porn here, I am disappointed.

I think the passion that seems to go along with certain characters in DA2 is intended, however. We're supposed to feel strongly about them in one way or another. For example, I strongly dislike most of the male characters aside from Hawke and Varric but that doesn't make them weak or uninteresting characters. Working as intended. We hate to show we care.

Unless it's Fenris. Then we just hate because he's one of Gaider's weakest and most boring characters that seems to fulfill no role other than being "counter to mages".

Edit: Opps, in the rewording deleting and posting the point of the post ran away. Posted Image Do you think certain charcters bring out a more protective streak? Like some need their action defended a little more then others, or am I just blind and it is equal bashing and defending all over. To be honest I think Anders gets bashed more then any other character... except Merrill maybe. I also think he is the most agressivly defended.

To answer the question posed above, yes. Certain characters do bring out a protective vibe and demeanor amongst many forumites. I attribute this to immersion, gaming passion and just squee-delight. Any character that draws the player in, makes them think, cheer, high-five, get all warm and flushed-like, or just laugh, is going to be worthy of that player's allegiance - to varying degrees.

I've seen the major characters all get their fair share of bashing. I've seen Hawke get ripped to shreds. Elves, Qunari, Genlock, etc. They have all had their fair share of mud slung upon them, countered with a lot of love and adoration.

It's the curse of fandom. The trick is to have the opposing parties discuss, squee or rant civilly.

Yah I agree with the charcters inciting passion, I even agree with peoples wants to state their hate for a character, if it's in a thread meant for debate I even agree with defending your charcter against that opinion. But do the charcters incite so much passion that coming across a different opinion can be taken as a personal insult?

If anyone takes anything on the internet as a personal insult, I worry for their personal health beyond the internet realm.
