If I were to do the DLC at level 5, would generic armor and weapons end up being more powerful as I level towards 50?
I would like to do the DLC, but not if it ends up just being cosmetic gear.

Legacy gear is all rated at the level you receive it, and doesn't change. It is also supposed to be capped at level 25 as well. So if you get it at 5 then you will outgrow it reasonably quickly. As a note gold is seemingly prorated to your level as well, by this I mean someone said they got around 20 gold for doing it early whereas, I got around 100 gold for doing it at 20+.

First two posts are correct. It's a bummer, too, considering the weapon we get is the only DLC one we actually earn and it won't be used if you have the other DLC items.
