Um, no, she could've given Shepard's body to the Alliance and let Shepard rest in peace, that would have been selfless. But instead she gives Shepard to Cerberus to be exploited by terrorists because she can't let Shepard go.

You shouldn't assume everyone plays as a self-loathing Shepard.

Yeah my Sheps are just pretty happy to be alive... Cerberus did it, who knows what the Alliance would have done with your body... bury it probably. I can let that one go pretty easily. Thanks Liara, for letting me come back to life.

lol

And Bioware shouldn't assume that every Shepard can't wait to throw his/her arms around Liara and be her bestest friend.

hey Liara is the most powerful person in my game, and you know her personally.
I did romance her in ME 1 because she was just better than Ash/Kaiden.
so yes, I would throw my arms around Liara and be her bestest friend and more.

What has that got to do with anything?

Nothing, but don't you dare argue Tali is an inferior romance, because the world shall collapse!

Just as I shouldn't assume that not every Shepard is "self loathing" (which wasn't my point--I was tring to point out how selfish Liara's actions in Redemption were) the writers at Bioware shouldn't assume that every single Mass Effect player is in love with Liara.

Liara help Shepard in ME1 and not any kind of help one that was crucial to stop Saren, Liara stays by Shepard side even when he kills her own mother and Liara also have been in Shepard mind even when not romanced she is probably one of the persons alive that knows him beter, Tali in the other hand is incapable of stay by Shepard side when he decide to do the right thing and reveal her father crimes. Liara was the only one that didin't gave up on Shepard after his death she goes look for him and risk her life for just his body. So after all that I think is very much safe to assume that Liara and Shepard are good friends.

Um, yeah, it's safe to assume that Liara is pretty obsessed with Shepard, to the point that she stalked him after death and kept pieces of him on display in her bedroom... But no, it's not "safe to assume" that every Shepard likes Liara back.

I believe you might've missed his point.

liara. the romance is actually practical.

the shepard and tali thing would fall apart quickly. always having to take pills and other meds, having to prepare clean rooms, having to schedule their intimate moments? yeah, that'd kill the relationship QUICK.

Liara makes more sense, as she has her own DLC....
Unless Bioware would like to make a DLC that features Tali?

Take a hint, Bioware!  You definitely have a big fan-base there.

I think it's save to assume that most people prefer to stay alive. But if you want to roleplay a Shepard with a death wish...you can always romance Morinth or something (at least you can die happy). It's your/Shepards decision. Death (a pile of ashes=giving Shepard to the alliance) is irreversible. How is that selfish again?

And Shepard hugging Liara has nothing to do with that....unless you're metagaming.

Although Liara's motive for giving Shepard to Cerberus were for her own satisfaction it's hard to deny that it wasn't also for Shepard's satisfaction as well. I'm pretty sure Shepard didn't want to die in a suprise Collector attack.

I think if your lover/friend/person-you-stalk is dead, the selfless thing to do is let that person rest in peace and given a proper funeral. The selfish thing to do is hand his/her body over to terrorists so he/she can be brought back to life and exploited just so you can give him/her one last hug!

Am I happy that my Shepard is alive so that I can continue to play the game? Yeah. But does that make Liara's motivations any less selfish? No. What she did, she did for herself, so that she wouldn't have to say "goodbye" to Shepard. She did not do any of those things with Shepard's best interests in mind.

And Shepard being forced ot hug Liara was an example of the game making assumptions about my (supposedly) free-to-roleplay-how-I-wish character. I shouldn't assume that your Shepard is "self hating," and you shouldn't assume that my Shepard wanted to throw his arms around Liara and give her a big ol' hug.

So try to recover the body of a friend from  being used by a alien race wich objective is to destroy all organic life and keeping mementos from a friend is being obsessed? That's a weird notion of obsession but everyone has the right to have an opinion.
And I belive that most people would like someone that saves their lives but I might be wrong :D

So once again is safe to assume that Shepard considers Liara a friend now there might be Shepards that might not like Liara yes, like there might be Shepards that would never work with Cerberus no mater what is at stake yet all Shepards work with Cerberus and in this you don't have any choice and with Liara you have you can refuse the friends time if you want.

1. source?

2. You need to check your definition of stalking. Let me help you...

Stalking can be defined as a pattern of repeated and unwanted attention, harassment, contact, or any other course of conduct directed at a specific person that would cause a reasonable person to feel fear. Stalking is against the law in every state. Stalking across state lines or in federal territories is illegal under federal law.

OP why don't you make 2 playthroughs for both of them like I did. Nothing says you can't have 2 canon playthroughs. Both have good romance and confirmed for ME3.
