So I guess you could totally remove Tali and get everything done; right it's not like you need her information on Saren showing his connection to geth the council would have made Shepard a Spectre and sent him/her after Saren with no proof whatsoever that they weren't just making stuff up.

because story and gameplay are the exact same thing right?

Plus if it wasn't for Shepard popping up at the right moment b*tch would've have been shot dead. Plus technically even if you did arrive late and she got killed you could just take the evidence you need off her body...so yeah.

How is the simple question how would you take the evidence? She most likely had some sort of protection on it so how would Shepard have been able to hack into Tali's omnitool or for the fact even know that the data was located in it also how would Shepard have known that the thugs that killed her haven't taken it already. Logic Flaws

No romance can compare to a Liara romance. Alot of people are going to flame me and claim there is no canon. It doesn't really matter if she is "canon" or not. What you call it is irrelevent. The fact remains that Liara has received preferencial treatment above and beyond any other character. You will have a fuller and richer experience with Liara vs any other romance in the games.

I admit I love how Tali's romance develops, it's cute and relatable and heartfelt by the end. But Liara's imo is deeper with LotSB and I'm biased because she's my canon - but I just think of tali as a friend, sweet as she is.

Forgive me if I misunderstand but, wasn't it Shepard who took out the legion of Geth and the Colossus? Because the only Geth Colossus I remember in ME2 with Tali involved was on Haestrom, where she was trapped by enemy Geth.

It was. He said Tali would have died to that, I said Liara would have too.

I love Liara, but Tali would be close second. Her personality is what makes her adorable, she's so "innocent" but at the same time she isn't.

I adore Liara but there is no canon in Mass Effect she just has a lot more content than the other characters.

I choose Liara everytime because I like her personality and her VA is great!

She has more content - I think the only "canon" thing being said is that Shepard and her share a BOND, whether that's love or just a close friendship is up to you. Can't really deny that with the comic and LotSB.

I'd choose Liara over Tali (since htatis the topic) but Jacob doesn't lean on Shepard, Shepard leans on him. He getsover his "daddy issue" before it even happens and he let Shepard vent to him he cares for Shepard and Shepard shakes his world up and he says "I love you" the ONLY Love interest to do so even Liara with her awesome treatment. Not trying to convine you, just giving a counter point.

That's an opinion and my opinion is that the l word, isn't the ultimate way to say or show your feelings for someone.  Especially when you are trying to get sex and say "I love you" as a way of gaining entrance to someone's pants.

This whole thread is full of opinions.  Liara or Tali...it's entirely subjective.

I don't really understand the point of these threads. They always turn into the same type of arguments ('my woman is better than yours'). If you like both, you don't necessarily have to choose and can make two separate Sheps and have a romance with each.

Or replay our canon Shepard twice...go with Liara the first time and stay loyal, then re-import that Shepard save and romance Tali in the next pt.

No, Liara never says "I love you", but she does show she loves Shepard. She comforts Shepard (or tries to) as well. This thread is about Liara vs Tali, so Jacob didn't really enter the equation. I've never played as a female so male LI's don't exist from my perspective. Even if they did, I'd still have to say Liara is the "preferred" LI due to the same reasons I listed above. I have even more reasons to state that Liara is the canon LI, but I didn't want to come off as dumping on the other LI's. I'm sure Jacob has better writting than any ME1 romance. I think all the ME2 writting, in and of itself, was superior to its predescessor. But that's a good thing.

I still haven't romanced Miranda. I intended to the first playthrough and then dumbed her as soon as Tali came on to me.

The second playthrough I was aiming for Miranda, but that particular Shepard unexpectedly clicked more with Jack.
 
Then the third playthrough ended the romance because it just didn't feel right and eneded up with Kelly.

The next two were canon playthroughs loyal to Liara and Ashley respectively.

Then the next was a canon playthough with a Tali romance. 

At some point I plan to do a pro-cerberus human supremacist and will force myself to romance her just to have all my basis covered for ME3 imports.
