I never was able to romance Tali. Every time I tried hitting on he I felt like a pedo.

I did Liara, Miri, Jack and Kelly.

Did Ash once cheated with Miri.

Honestly, you can't go wrong with either one. Heck, make two different Sheps and have them each romance Liara and the other romance Tali.

Jack is 19 or 20 and Tali is 24 in ME2.

Well... I think those numbers get a little weird when you start talking about aliens. If you're talking about maturity level... Tali matured quite a bit between ME1 and ME2 I think. We don't really know when a Quarian reaches biological adulthood either.

The more I think about it, the more Liara makes me feel like a pedo... the way she reacts to Shepard's death reminds me more of a pre-teen unable to let go of a crush then a grown woman. Giving the body to Cerberus, holding on to his old armor and dog tags... it's a little disturbing. Then again she's a very, very young Asari. 300 years old is the start of matron age... when they start thinking about settling down and having kids. So what's that make Liara?

Tali would feel like a pedo choice in ME1... but in ME2 I don't get the same vibe from her. She seems more like a young woman then a teenager.

Tali is a quarian teenager, both mentally and culturally.

I was under the impression that once a quarian is sent on (and finishes) their pilgrimage, they are considered adults.

That makes her a young adult who is not familiar with human customs & culture...or do you know many teenager who have completed their studies with a doctorate/PhD + traveled the world alone (for decades)?

We know Morinth escaped from Thessia at the age of 40, after hitting puberty and manifesting the symptoms of  an Ardat-Yakshi.
40 = puberty
Liara is almost three times as old. Do the math.

And then there is one asari on Illium...
"I just turned 60 and I finally moved out of my parents house"

You should also read the codex again...
However, it should be noted that, each stage can be started whenever an
asari feels that she has reached the correct level of maturity.

Anyways, I would choose both as well...but for me personally it's Liara...since she is my ME 1 romance...though my overall romance is Miri( even flirted with her during my 'stay faithful to Liara' playthrough).

That is the main reason I didn't romance her (on top of finding her physically unappealing, her voice being monotone and odd with the breathy bit, and her being too heavy on the Innocent Fanservice Girl/Green Skinned Space Babe tropes). It's also the main reason my partner didn't romance her. She may be an adult physically but her "barely more than a child" comment, aka "barely legal", and her naive/innocent/child-like mentality just don't do it for me.

Oh, and watch out. The Liara fans hate it when someone brings that up.

In ME1 playthrough I didn't feel any connection with Liara. So I romanced Ash. Still didn't feel a deep connection with Ash either, she was more like a good friend and she had similar history and background as my Shep. So in ME1 she was more like "a friend with benefits" Tali's loyalty mission however was very well written and it revealed a lot about Tali's character. So for me Tali is the one for my Shep, and I'm looking forward to see what happens to the relationship in ME3. Ash don't like it what I'm going to say

Didn't think of either Liara or Tali in ME as optional romances. Yes, Tali was not even a choice then but the thought never did come up, not even in ME2. Liara was one of the choices but she was startling too forward and understandably overwhelmed by the attention and her sudden importance. To pitch right into a relationship with her after a mere two exchanges didn't quite ring true so she was not chosen.

In ME2, I had to rethink after encountering her at Ilium and doing LotSB because she has definitely improved although there are questions concerning her motives in her fervent search for Shep when the rest of the old squad appeared to have simply let go and continued with their lives. So I went back to ME and replay solely just to get her as LI.

According to the first paragraph of the wiki article you are correct.

From what official source do people get these birthdates from anyway? I go by the wiki unless there is something in-game that leads me to a different conclusion. The earliest date in-game starts her at 2165. There is a bit of semantics involved as the writters may not differentiate between a baby and a toddler.

And how exactly do you know this?

I'll just arbitrarily say Liara is a 9 year old in asari years, both mentally and culturally. And Garrus is 15 years old by turian standards.

Actually, it's because I rather enjoy ripping Liara and I've nothing to add to the Garrus discussion. I usually reply to the "Who do you want with you, who do you like most, blah blah blah" threads and rarely mention her. However, since this topic is "Liara vs. Tali", I'm well within my right to reply to it. Don't like it? Put me on ignore. Anyway, as I can't kill her, I'm limited to talking about not liking her. If and when I can kill her or if and when my Shepard is not required to be friendly with her, you'll hardly hear a peep from me about her. Interesting you say "characters", though, since there's only one in the ME universe I actively dislike.

Indeed, she talked about how her research wasn't taken seriously because she, not her data, not her analyses, not her articles, is just so young for her species.

I'm having some trouble equating "any thoughts?", what seems to me to be a neutral request, to "tell me which one you like the most." I'm under the impression a thought could be in favor of or against a specific romance.

How is the simple question how would you take the evidence? She most likely had some sort of protection on it so how would Shepard have been able to hack into Tali's omnitool or for the fact even know that the data was located in it also how would Shepard have known that the thugs that killed her haven't taken it already. Logic Flaws

not really....cuz were kinda on two different spectrums when i say Shepard comes late. i can admit i see your point in the bad guys taking the data Shepard. But when i say late i mean Tali just dies and Shepard and company arrives and kills the baddies and takes the data. As for the hacking your acting like shepard can't just bring it to the council im pretty sure they have the resources to hack it.

So were both technically both right. Cuz we describe late differently.

...and you save the b*tch Liara in ME1 as well. I doubt Liara would have been able to take out a legion of geth including a colossus in ME2... so your logic is flawed.

What do you mean logic is flawed never once did i say even say Liara couldn't be killed i fully realize that she would have killed. All im saying is Tali is not really all that important, and i can admit neither is Liara. The point that i was dicussing is how once again Tali really ain't all that important.

You i don't know what your trying to say by telling me that Liara would have been killed on therum
