After updated to patch 1.01b , when I opened the game, starting from the dragon age origin EA logo clip, the top left corner of my screen appeared PHYSX > CPU (I can't type the exact icon, it is actually a small triangle pointing right).

What does this mean??
This is the first time I've seen this, and these words are not appeared in other game.

Is there a problem?
Any ideas would help
Thankyou

p.s. My Display card is ASUS ENGTX295 and I used to max out all the settings without any problem at all.

I suspect it's nothing to worry about - a debug message accidentally left in the game after the patch.

My guess would be that it indicates the game is running its PhysX calculations on the CPU, because you don't have a graphics card that supports it.

thankyou

but my card is GTX295 and in the PhysX control panel I set :Enabled PhysX GPU acceleration.

I don't want my CPU to take so much load, the physX calculations should be the duty of display card

Does Dragon Age support PhysX on GPU? Maybe it was only implemented on a CPU level.

Even if it supports PhysX on GPU, it will pop up the message "PhysX > GPU". That's what I've experienced in Batman : AA

it's not an issue with the game..if you're using beta Nvidia drivers, it enables the Physx visual indicators by default. Go to your control panel and look under "3D settings" on the file menu and uncheck "show PhysX Visual Indicator" basically it's a debug option to let you see how your games are using (if they're using) PhysX. There's a similar option for SLI which puts a bar on the side of your screen, showing SLI usage (if there is any). DAO uses PhysX, though not enough that it needs to use the GPU to do it, so it runs it on the CPU (which is what the indicator shows you). DAO also doesn't really utilize SLI, as it doesn't need to, though I use my 2 9800GTX+s in SLI to run in 32xQ AA mode so the game looks better. Hopefully that helps. The only things DAO uses Physx for is arrow flight paths and hit adjustements, and some spell effects, doesn't use nearly as much as say, Mass Effect does, with Biotic abilities.

Hi Rayne, I've been looking for that "off" button for a long time actually. My NVidia control panel doesnt seem to have that PhysX Visual Indicator you mentioned.. hmm..

Anyone mind sharing a "print screen" where this option is found?

Keyboard bindings. The default one does not seem to work(at least for me). Change it to something like numpad-enter.
