I started thinking about her character earlier and how she's unusually fleshed out for such an insignificant character and I've begun to suspect she must've been the original information source for finding Thane and Samara before they decided on Liara.

I really liked her the first time i saw her too, just her lineage is epic, and the backstory too.
Favorite asari (xcept liara of course) much more than aria...
besides, im always having a hard time figurin out if i wanna punch or bang aria

Aethyta is my favorite side character her snarky attitude and all her stories make her one of the more interesting people you meet, not to mention her possible connection to Liara.

Dunno, Benezia was a half political figure, half religious leader... rocking the boat like Aethyta did would have put a strain on the relationship. I could see Liara reminding her mother of Aethyta when she avoided politics in favor of an active career looking into the very mysteries of the universe.

Protheans were pretty mysterious at the beginning of the series.

Count me in on the Normandy bartender advisor thing... t'would be very cool.

I just adore Aethyta I hope she is brought back as an Romance option for Shepard in Mass Effect 3 I love her personality and her snarky attitude I had a thought just imagine if Shepard romanced Liara and then dumped her for Aethyta that scene would be awkward I figure it would go like this.

Shepard:Liara we need to talk.
Liara:What's wrong Shepard?
Shepard:Liara I am sorry to have to tell you this but I have fallen in love with someone else.
Liara:What who is it is it Miranda,Tali,or that criminal Jack?
Shepard:Nope it's actually another Asari.
Liara:What who is it?
Shepard:See it's a funny story after we got together I kinda devoloped feelings for Shiala and then after we reunited I still loved you but believe it or not guess who I ran into on Ilium Shiala anyway she flirted and asked me out.
Liara:She what?
Shepard:Relax Liara it's not Shiala anyway after I left Ilium to continue my mission I bacame attracted to Samara.
Liara:You became attracted to the Justicar.
Shepard:Yep sure did and she was attracted to me but she decided that her code came first.
Liara:Ok then who is this Asari that you are in love with?
Shepard:Well after that we returned to Illium for some Upgrdes and I went to a Bar and the rest isn't really important.
Shepard:Oh and by the way Liara we actually got married.
Liara:You got married?
Shepard:Yeah and here's where it gets complicated.
Shepard:I am your new dad.

Awkward just starts to describe it. It would be nice to have both Liara and Aethyta on Normandy though. I'd imagine Shepard would have fairly strong feelings for both of them.
Not to mention that Shepard most likely agrees with her revolutionary ideas about asari starting to make their own Mass relays. Too many of the true geniuses are never understood by their contemporaries.
