Why did so many people say Dragon Age 2 was a bad game?

Oh yeah, do not bother with Sebastian his corset is laced too tight...although he protests too much, methinks! I actually wanted to slaughter him in the chantry at one point.

Oh, about combat, the Call of Duty spawning is terrible. So even that is not good uniformly.

I second this! One of my favorite movies.
Thirded!
Also, I really enjoyed DA2 (especially the characters, I'm a huge fan of Aveline and Varric), despite the repetitive and bland environments and feeling as though the third act fell apart completely. I tend not to be as vocal about my enjoyment of the game as maybe I should be, partly because I have to qualify it with a load of criticisms, and also because I totally understand where those who really dislike the game are coming from so I find it hard to argue with them

Enjoyment and DA2 should never be mentioned in the same sentence, just because so many things were wrong with it.(As in everything, except for *maybe* Varric's chesthair.)
Not to burst anyone's bubble, but DA:O and DA:O-A wasn't all that holy either, it was just a savior in times dire and starved. No actually good "hardcore pnp tabletop pc rpg" was around at the time, or was about to be released and DA:O came into the picture, with all its problems and goodness. It was a good time kill, but anyone saying it's GREAT is a bit delusional. Mediocre to good.
DA2 on the other hand? Abysmal, horrid, utter horse-....

In my particular opinion, the gameplay/story segregation issues and the utterly useless paraphrase system, combined with a complete lack of pacebreakers in the gameplay and the random restrictions in companion building made the game not as enjoyable as I hoped.
People always forget about Drakensang. I know it's made by an obscure german developer based on an obscure german PnP RPG ruleset and setting, but still. I've yet to see another game with a character sheet as lovely as Drakensang's.Sakatox wrote...

However if DAO had flaws then i dont even know where to put DA2... The game is a mess... Its rushed have alot of bad design choices, copy pasted areas, bad companions, lacks any depth what so ever. No tactics required, the choices have no impact worth mentioning, the lore holes are so large that im not bioware can ever fix them and the story is all over the place.

DAO had flaws... Hell i could write a book about it. Its like a super light and easy version of a CRPG that lacked depth in the rpg, stats, combat and tactics area. Lets not forget in choices and exploration also.

Many of those people some of the gamers on this forum are calling dumb will probably be examining their X-Rays in the morning or discovering the next potent drug in the war on disease.
Please, you do not need a degree in rocket science to play a CRPG. I play games from FPS to Total War and HPS simulations. Sometimes I am not in the mood to play a CRPG so I grab a FPS which can be just as involving as an CRPG. I want to have fun.
I liked DA2 because I had fun. That makes it worth the money IMHO. I sometimes grab Mortal Combat or Street Fighter because my daughter and son-in-law like to play them. and I get to play with them.
I play Wii sports because my wife likes the bowling game and we can have fun together. My wife likes to play Duck Hunt (and for information purposes she holds two masters and has been teaching at the college level for twenty years), because she has fun. And sometimes after work she just wants to shoot something. The bottom line for me in playing any game is to have fun. So if Stronger_khan had fun then more power to him.
I don't get that attitude either Realz. I like my Wii, and I am well educated and have degrees. I am not fond of shooters just because I am bad at them. ROFL! I have many friends who love FPS and hack and slash, CoD, etc. I love to play silly Wii games and solitaire for heavens sake.
I don't get it either. I play CoD when I'm in the mood, and I'm not an idiot. In fact, I have a really high IQ, as do many of my friends who also play CoD.
I think what makes CoD such a strong franchise is the adrenaline rush people get when they play.
Also, I have a Wii too! Sadly the only good games I have for it are Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, and Wii Sports. Everything else I've seen is horrendous. Well, save for anything Pokemon related. Pokemon is always awesome

I grew up with this DSA a.k.a. The Dark Eye a.k.a. the Drakensang PnP!

I never understood that attitude either and comes off to me at least as snobbish and childish . I play all types of games from RPGS(JRPGS and WRPGS) FPS, Fighting Games, and Action/Adventure platformors. I think honestly it just sour grapes becasue some of them feel Bioware Console -fied the game and that console gamers are some how subpar to their PC counterparts. Another notion that I laugh at as well. I play both MW and MW 2 in the COD series and enjoyed then greatly. One the Reasons why I play RPG is becasue its a relaxing experience for me. Once I get tired of trying to process frame rates, memorize combos, and get character timing down. RPGS at least some are not that hard and are not meant to be that hard.

Drakensang's main problem is it assumes you have the PnP rulebook hanging around somewhere, so it doesn't explain much about the rules its playing by. But other than that, a fun series of games for the price. Definately reccomended.

Design choices are subjective.
The writing for the companions was Bioware at its best IMHO. Varric....best character of the whole franchise.
Also, with me, it left a much deeper impression than DAO ever did.
Haven't encountered any large lore breakers in 8 playthroughs.
Loved the story except for one of the 2 endings. But then, half of DAO's endings are messed up too.

How very quaint....given that the above is not spot on English either.
Let me guess, smart people were born to play The Witcher 2? Given that such an utterly complex, political plot clearly is too much for anyone who loves DAII.
The arrogance....the mind BOGGLES!
