If anything I wish legacy would have been much longer. (And no junk loots) An expansion with legacy storyline/lore would be far more interesting to me. But that's just me.

 I love DAII but do admit the area recycling gets annoying at times. I am fixing to play Legacy for the first time. Here's to hoping I like it.

Well FieryDove, since you asked... Posted Image

That I thought I could escape seeing ***holes by joining the BSN, only to find out that wasn't true.

Excluding my friends on here of course and a lot of other posters I'm not friends with. I don't count them among the group I tried to escape from.

Though I guess I should be thankful that even if I couldn't escape being around that group, they're now a minority. In my city, they're a majority. Along with idiots.

Yeah, let's keep the insults and swearing out of the discussion, please. we can disagree with each other without resorting to childish behaviour.

Well I admit the old bio boards were not so...unfriendly.

Maybe you could form a *group* and avoid the main fourms altogether? But where is the fun, excitement and challenge in that? Posted Image

You are more optimistic than I. (That is not a bad thing). Posted Image

True, this area is fun despite those people being here. Posted Image

In a game where listing the many MANY flaws would take me hours (and then I would have to come back and edit it throughout the day as I think of more), a good DLC can't really save it. Maybe an expansion pack that really goes back and changes some main parts of the game... but its doubtful that once the sales numbers come out for the DLC that this Bioware team will get the funding for that.

I have around 10 unique end saves for DA:O, and I honestly hope I can update them with just a DA2 save editor or something, because the mere thought of having to play through DA2 again (expecially that many times) makes me sick to my stomach.

i believe it does, but let me simplify it for you.
DA:O = great
DA2= taking dragon age downhill
Legacy= still junk, but much shorter junk.

dragon age 2 continues to ruin the dragon age franchise with junk dlc.

DAO=Great
DA2=Even greater
Legacy=Awesome
Yeah.

Well, to be fair, what with the conversation after, it should have said "Are you sure you want the carta to attack you now? RIGHT now? Why don't you wait for them to attack you later."

What I would have appreciated is WHY the staute appeared in the house, or commentary that it had actually done so and not merely appeared. Not necessarily the statue talking (though DA:O had plenty of that and DA2 has one too) but maybe Uncle Gamlen (or sister/brother/mother, depending on those available) or Bodahn, as the 'house hosts' as it were, making some remark on why it arrived (in Gamlem's case, how it takes up too much damn room in my house, get this rubbish out), from whom it arrived, or isn't it so odd that it materialised here, oh well.

Actually getting the attack ever would have been nice, though it may have been awkward to implement with the brother/sister variables.

I thought it fairly obvious that the statue was a memento of one of Hawke's adventures (like other things in that room) and Legacy is the story behind that. Clicking on the statue recalls the tale.

Anyway showing the attack wouldn't have been practical since it could vary too much. Besides, about  the worst move they could have done in this DLC would have been to start it off with a wave of carta dwarves dropping in to attack Hawke in his house.  Had they done that, people would have started multiple threads complaining about how Bioware ignored their feedback

personally i shouldn't think ill buy legacy except perhaps if they release some kind of ultimate addition further down the road. As others have said its a mistake to buy a dlc for a game you don't enjoy much then moan about not enjoying the dlc

with out playing though I can however say that it does give me some hope for the franchise as they have clearly taken on-board certain criticisms. While the dlc can only do so much to remedy what are often seen as the flaws of da2, it is a step in the right direction and an appropriate concession towards the fans. Lets just hope they can use this experience to develop a da3 that will leave the fans satisfied

When I said it gives a glimpse of hope, I did not mean that it's on par with DA:O.

DA:O still remains the best game I've ever played, and I am not looking with nostalgia on it.

DA2 has many issues and it's not even half the game DA:O was. Legacy just shows that they listened to a couple of things we criticized and fixed them and there's a lot of other stuff that they kept which still kinda bother me. The story is great and it's more connected to what we experienced and learned through DA:O and Awakening.

I just hope that they continue to listen to what of the majority of fans say and that DA3 will be even more a mix of DA:O and DA2. After all, DA2 had a couple of things that were improved from DA:O, so I'm not saying to go all the way back to DA:O.

I played and still playing) DA2 out of love for the whole setting of the Dragon Age and out of hope they will get back on track with an epic storyline.

I just cannot understand why they called it Dragon Age 2. I understand the short time they had to make it and all the stuff that "went wrong", but couldn't they just make some title for it, "Rise To Power" first comes to mind. That way we would look on it as just another story from the Dragon Age, and I assume that more will follow that will not go back to the Warden and Ferelden story, although I love my Warden and I really want to see his story finished in a proper way.

Bioware should redo DA2 (a combined update + expansion pack). There is precedence, as I believe Divinity 2 was redone based on fan criticism (they redid the original and combined it with an expansion thus it was not "free"). Legacy is an improvement over the content in the main game, but yes there are still other core issues that need to be addressed which would only be possible with a major update.

I have played DA:O for over 280 hours, and DA:2 for only a single play-through. As much as I find the DLC to be an improvement, it is not enough (4 hour content) to put in the effort to make another character.
