The elf ears are also wrong. In the books we are told that the Quarians either have much smaller ears than humans, or there ears are internal like a lizards. The phrase used to describe them was "what passes for the Quarian version of an ear."

who says she is purple?
I agree, Tali isn't necessarily purple. She only looks purple because that is the color of her visor.

It's a talented piece of fan art so I'm not slamming it, and the artist is going in a direction I agree with in making Tali alien, but I don't feel it's pushed far enough yet to make her really feel alien to me.
Edit:
One thing I wish people would consider in their fan art of Quarians unmasked is the design of the Geth. The Geth are created in the image of the Quarians in the shape of their bodies, so perhaps the shape of their faces are similar to that of their creators too. Obviously Quarians do have two eyes, a nose-like protrusion and a mouth (and not one big glowing mono-eye), I'm primarily talking about face and skull shape that the head of the Geth have with the long domed arch on top.

If Tali is ever unmasked I hope the character looks a little more alien than that. The artist is talented, but I think the Quarians should look more alien than the Asari, not less.

You might be kind of stuck in that department. Already confirmed in the Codex/lore:
-endoskeleton
-lips
-teeth
-two eyes
-eyelids
-tear ducts
-dimunitive ear
I suppose you could make them look less human than the Asari given the above list of features, but they aren't going to look like crab people or reptiles.

It's great but too human like.
Codex specifically states Quarians "look suprisingly human".

People who want the Quarians to be a Star Trek species (almost entirely human in appearance) are misinterpreting the Quarians' physical description in the codex and books to mean that they look just like human females, when neither the codex or the books actually says that. Having some physical similarities with humans doesn't mean they look just like human females.
Consider that the Drell for example, also have an endoskeleton, lips, teeth, two eyes and dimunitive ears. In fact I would say that the Drell should be used as a template for Bioware on what they want to do with the Quarians. Not that the Quarians should resemble the Drell or be a reptilian species, but Bioware should look to combine a similar amount of human and alien features in the creation of the Quarians as they did with the Drell. The Drell represent a sort of middle ground between very alien looking species like the Salarians or Krogan and very human looking species like the Asari. Bioware should aim for the middle ground with the Quarians.

they can still change it....granted, the likelihood of that happening is nil and we're most likely getting Night Elves in space...

Huh? You think my belief that quarians have scales is a troll? Why?
Grunt is the one who says that quarians aren't 'soft' the way humans and salarians are, so scales seem like a pretty standard option.
If you really loved Tali, you'd love her even if she weren't beautiful in a human-esque way. I am kind of hoping that Bioware does reveal Tali's face in 3, and that her face is alien and strange (but still appealing in an alien way).
