Good Blood Mage Spells

Not looking for a build, but rather spell reccomendations for building a blood mage. One who uses...offensive magic but yet can use buffs?

I'm looking for the best of the primal line, spirit line, entropy line.... things like that

Some of my favorites at least.

Also Earth, Frost, and Lightning are good for primal. I favour Lightning myself but most like Frost cause of the freeze effect.

Glyph of Neutralization would also work, especially considering you could walk in and out of it as you pleased (as long as you left it to cast spells) seeing as your mana =/= your spellcasting pool

hmmm but what about the heal spells? If I play an "evil" mage we can still heal right?

Regeneration is the best heal of the normal heal spells. Keep in mind when using Blood Magic active that your -90% to healing on yourself.

Awww....crap I forgot about that.....

so take basic heal and leave the higher healing power to Wynne? Or just be really careful when unleashing blood magic?

You can always toggle it on/off as needed. It has a 10sec cooldown.

Good trick to use with blood magic is to activate it when your mana hits the 15% mark. If you always keep at least 15% of your mana, you can cut blood magic off when you're running low on health and use this chain:

Heal > Regeneration > Mass Rejuvination > you'll be out of mana again so activate blood magic

Neat little trick to have nearly infinite mana, especially when coupled with Dark Sustenance.

True, but at 20 hp regen you'll have enough fuel to cast spells for a looooong time as long as you don't draw aggro too much.

Check out my Blood Mage/Arcane Warrior/Keeper setup in this thread.
Ive had alot of use out of this build, and I play a Caster not a melee AW.
Heres a Pic. Aphelion Surana when I went to Orzamaar right after Lothering to get Ohgren.

I tend to play more tacticaly with the spells hence my preferance for Spirit and Glyphs. With some choice control spells from Entropy. For a damage mage I forgot about another spell I like to use "Curse of Mortality" it prevents healing but its also a pretty high spirit damage over time spell.

Affliction Hex+Stinging Swarm+Virulent Walking Bomb+Curse of Mortality+Crushing Prison = Huge AoE DOT damage.

my current blood mage is going mainly spirit spells as i want to get my achievement and open new spell combo. but i think these are the few spells that u should have. blizzard, tempest, mana clash, crushing prison, ward of repulsion, heal. all 4 of blood mage spells, group heal. the rest that are good will be fireball, virulent walking bomb. i think the beauty of blood mage is you can simply spam spells. spells with short recharge should be the best. i will go more for control spells with a few nuke as blood mage is rather fragile when swarmed. control spells will keep them away.
my other blood mage is more of primal spell combo based nuker. so i add in spells that are needed for the combo like grease and spell might and such. will add in vulnerability hex if i can squeeze them in.

Hmmm whats some good Blood Mage synergies you have found or combos?

We all know bout the Arcane Warrior/Blood Mage.

I hear Blood Mage/Spirit Healer works great. (And makes you technicaly a Abomination)

Blood Mage/Shapeshifter can kinda work, ive played it and its definetly a unique playstyle.

What about Awakening specs? I found Keeper mixes with Blood Mage amazingly well.

Battlemage is great. Lets you keep elemental chaos up pretty much all the time, its just handy knowing you can burn through your mana quickly then swap yo your hp pool. +Health regeneration gear like Lifegiver virtually offsets the cost of keeping elemental chaos up.

I really feel Blood Magic comes up incredibly short of its potential.

I suggest watching the anime or reading the manga "Deadman Wonderland" for a good example and use of blood manipulation and its consequences.

Some other sources of Blood Manipulation can be found in the Anime/manga "Darker than Black" and also in the Anime/Manga "Hellsing" and in the Anime "Vampire Hunter D Blood Lust". another source of referance material can come from the vampiric abilities that use blood from the game seies Legacy of Kain, and Castlevania. White Wolfs Vampire the Masqurade as a entire clan that specialise in Blood Manipulation called the "Tremere" thats a good source.

I have tried Blood mage, Spirit healer, and Battle mage combo and its very effective.

The spells I had were (cant remember all of them)

Mage: Arcane Mastery

Primal: Fireball, Cone of Cold, Shock.

Creation: Mass Rejuvenation, Stinging Swarm.

Spirit: Spell Shield, Crushing Prison.

Entropy: Death Hex, Death Cloud.

Blood Mage: Blood Wound.

Spirit Healer: Group Heal.

Awakening
Same spells in Origins.
Arcane field(or something like that)
Battle Mage:Hand of Winter

I simply reccomend the Walking Bomb spells, they are just too awesome and plus you're an evil blodd mage, so why not?

Walking Bomb is useful on Casual/Normal difficulty, but WILL kill your whole party if playing hard or nightmare.
