Now I sided with Larius when the time came and I'm going forward. I come across an area that has room with a hallway that has a barrier in front of it and I can't proceed. Looking through to the other side I see another door with another red barrier. How do I get the barriers open to proceed to check out the area?

There are three spots on the walls that will activate the blue, green and red light in the pillar room. You have to match those three the same way you have done with the yellow light to get out of the pillar room. A tip is to start with the edges and corners. Once a beam is correct it turns white. If all four beams are white you can pass the barriers and get the item. this is optional though you do not need to get past the barriers to finish the DLC.

White? They actually look blue to me, but no matter, Turn on all three pillars then go back to the Room you where trapped in with the Carta sent by Janeka, Then concentrate one color moving the pillars, once it turns white/blue then you have done it, you can move on to the next color. The object is the same as when you had to move the pillars to get out. Lining them up to make them all flow. But once you get one, It "locks" so don't worry about the possibility of ruining the flow again.

On PC the beams do not lock. You need to have all of them connected at the same time. But if you start with those that can only have one position the riddle is not too hard.

Apparently this is one of the riddles that is harder on PC than on the consoles like the gauntlet was in DA:O

Just complete one at a time. Start with green and once this one is done just go to next dont worry if it changes back once you continue down the line, just focus on finishing one at a time from point a to point b.

RATS, thats awful. I couldn't do it without it locking.  Yes, I guess then one at a time is more beneficial.

Oh lordy, how much do I want the item that I'd be willing to go through all that?

On PC version you can't do this sadly. Once you unlock a barrior you can enter , but when you go out to open another ahead, EVERY party member will follow you to the rotate column's room so you can't stay any of them there to proceed next room. Well I made a solution for this column puzzle.

Unlike the gauntlet, I am not aware of any difference in this puzzle between consoles and PC. On any platform, if you wish to reach the room with the helmet, you must solve all four layers simultaneously. It may be possible to split your party and go past one barrier at a time as you solve one layer at a time, but I would have thought your party would get jumped back to you. Perhaps that's slightly different platform to platform? While that's a clever way to get the treasure and I don't begrudge anyone doing it, the intended functionality on all platforms is that you turn all 4 beams white at the same time.

Sorry but I have never had to solve it Simultaneously. I  Push each one of the Power Nexus, then go to the room and solve top to bottom. Each time I get one right it turns white (blue, to me I might me crazy though ;p) it locks,  I go to the next. Finally it opens, and all of my party memeber and I go to the "office".  Does that make since I may have to explain it better. But for a non puzzle solver this trial by error, locking thing works for me, If it did change I may have to leave the helm behind. :P

I'm pretty sure all that's happening here is you are solving all four simultaneously and not realizing it. The layers do not lock in as they are solved individually. Depending on how you solved the bottom layer initially, it is quite possible that solving each layer from the top down could result in a complete solution without ever disrupting the already completed layers above.

Darn! I solved the column riddle; got all 4 color beams simultaneously. Only to get the barrier in the room where redneck1st did. I've turned on (AFTER the column thing) the white, blue, red and green Nexus'. You mean I have to do the column riddle AGAIN on my PC????

They don't lock in place on the PS3, all the layers rotate together.

That wouldn't make it much easier anyway, I found the hardest part of the puzzle figuring out where everything had to go in the first place there's a lot going on in that room.
