I have not played through on insanity yet and was wondering which class should I use for my first insanity run. I have played through hardcore already so I have an idea of what to expect.
What Should I Use For My First Insanity Playthrough?

A class you haven't played yet. I ran as a Soldier - which is supposed to be one of the easiest.

I've played all of them and mastered half of them.

There's not too much of a jump from Hardcore to Insanity, it's more up to how you want to beat the game.
The Sentinel with Assault Armor can easily beat ME2 on Insanity. The Soldier using the Mattock and Widow can also have an easy time. The Engineer is great with Explosive Drone and Heavy Incinerate.
I haven't used the Infiltrator much, and the Vanguard and Adept have a bit of a learning curve, but all of the classes can wreak havoc all the same.

I ran through Insanity with my GPS-using Vanguard and I only died once or twice (never played Vanguard before). The learning curve wasn't that steep for me, I just had to actually use my brain. Don't charge into a big group of enemies for example, especially if there is no nearby cover.
If you do decide to be a Vanguard, pick up Heavy Charge and Inferno Ammo. Give your squad Cryo Ammo. Also remember that if you're shields are depleted charging will replenish them.

Thanks, so far I'm torn between the Vangaurd or Engineer but I'll go with the Vangaurd because I haven't played it in a while and I'm getting an Engineer ready for ME3. Should be a nice change of of pace.

With a Vanguard on Insanity, be prepared to die a whole bunch until you get some levels and skill using the class. Vanguard is a beast if you know how to play one, but until you get the skill......aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Don't worry, the Vangaurd is the first class I mastered and I know full well of it's frustrating learning curve.

I'm sure you already know, but as a Vanguard (just like any other class) it's imperative that you get all the weapon upgrades as soon as possible. Especially if you plan on using the Geth Plasma Shotgun since it can, at a full upgrade and charge, strip defenses and do health damage.

Well, if you can *really* succesfully run a Charge-Shotgun Vanguard on Insanity, you can pretty much play with any class. That run is by far the most difficult.

I wish I had the Geth Plasma but I don't have any DLC sides what came in the cerberus network and digital deluxe edition though I do hope to get the Firepower Pack and LotSB soon. As for my weapon, the eviserator will do for now.
