And I want you to at least try to understand this fact. You made a difference. You put that team together, and in the biggest cesspit in the galaxy this side of Detroit, you made a difference. You hurt the three biggest coalitions of bastards in that place so bad that they actually had to work together to even attempt to bring you down, and you still managed to spit in their faces and hurt them. Don't ever forget about that, or the lives you saved, or the nameless that you found some measure of justice for. And if you ever feel the need to talk, come find me and I'll introduce you to more human booze."

Obvious one is showing several people some of the post mission emails, like giving Garrus the messages from a squadmate's widow and Dr Michel, or showing Tali the impressively worded fatherly threat that Rael sends.

"So that's it? That's all you've got to say? You were there when the Normandy burned, when the pods were retrieved, you were at the funeral. You know I died. You helped us mutiny and steal the Normandy when they tried to start burying everything we'd done, so we could stop Saren, because it was what needed to be done. You've been there to see them sweep everything they did under the rug, seal it eyes only and forget about it. You know that something's going on, that the Citadel wants to pretend its just another human problem, and the Alliance is too busy playing politics to care. And now I ride in here, save these people, and you, with Garrus by my side, and I don't even get a chance to explain WHY I'm here? Instead I just get this traitor BS? I thought we knew each other better than that. I thought there was enough trust there that I could at least get that. Guess I was wrong. Have a nice life Ash." <leaves>

"Get. The. Hell. Off. My. Ship. It was bad enough on Freedom's Progress when you tried to tell me to haul off Veetor, or justify what your precious coalition of terrorists and madmen did when they attacked the Quarians, but now, attempting to justify what happened at Teltin? I don't need morally bankrupt, two faced, apologists for Cerberus on this mission. Zaeed at least doesn't pretend to be anything other than what he is. Now get the hell off my ship before I use the airlocks to throw you off!"
To Tali (in the hours before the suicide mission)
"I guess it worked out well that the admiralty changed your ship name. You're a part of this crew, a part of this ship, a part of my life. There's so much I need to thank you for, for coming on this latest bit of madness, in spite of who built this ship and plastered their logo everywhere they could; for trusting me enough to step away from the fleet; for being here with Garrus, Joker and Helen to keep me sane. And for trusting me enough to share yourself with me like this. You are Tali'Zorah vas Normandy nar Ryya, This is your ship, your home, and I love you."

But he never complains. No, seriously. He's the most neutral character in any game ever made. You have to press him to talk about his past, and he admits (reluctantly), that he got sent to the military biotic school from hell, and accidentally killed his instructor when he stood up to him. He then assures you that he's got his past squared away and dealt with, and that the experience helped him see that aliens were just like humans.
Again, he never complains.

You really don't remember him complaining about the mission, the council, the alliance? He was Carth 2.0

Liara (post lotsb)
Just who in the hell do you think you are? You were a part of my crew and my team, and I thank you for that, but that's all. I told you, several times that I wasn't interested. Yet you turn your apartment into some deranged shrine to me, hunt down my remains and hand them over to Cerberus because you missed me? Get some help girl, because that's just nuts. Legion's fixation on me is endearing because it doesn't understand what its done. Tali at least tried to move on with her life while still carrying a torch. You just went mad.
Thank you for what you did though, its given me another chance to make a difference, to stop the Reapers, and it let me find some real joy with Tali by my side. Your assistance in everything that's about to come will be appreciated, I know that saving lives matters to you as much as it does to me. But there are only two other people on this ship who are ever going to see the inside of my quarters, and they're Tali and Garrus. And I'd like my tags back, thank you.

Okay, I'll play along.
Zaeed: "Shepard. Here for a lesson? I remember this one mission, I killed a big krogan".
Shepard: "A lesson? On Virmire, I killed two hundered krogan and destroyed the cure of the genophage. Oh, and about four hundered Geth. Then I nuked the place".
Zaeed: "Don't touch that! That rifle's killed more men than the Scyllian Blitz!"
Shepard: "That would be impressive, even for me . . . on a Tuesday. Morning".
Zaeed: "I remember one time this big man-eating tree tried to eat me. I tossed a grenade into its mouth!"
Shepard: "I killed a fifty-ton billion-year-old mind-controlling plant, and absorbed the knowledge of the Protheans from one of its lackeys."
Zaeed: "Once I killed a big spider thing. It must've been ten feet tall!"
Shepard: I freed the sole surviving Rachni queen, and then killed an entire corrupted brood of a few thousand of them."
Zaeed: "That's a model of a Turian frigate I took down. Five men died, I'm the only one who survived."
Shepard: " This is a model of a Reaper. I destroyed it, saved the galaxy, and lost one soldier from my team."
Zaeed: "Once I tracked a batarian through a jungle and killed him."
Shepard: " I tracked a Reaper and its pet indoctrinated Spectre outside the charted systems, then chrashed through a mass effect relay in an APC, and saved every sentient being in the galaxy."
Zaeed: "Talk more later, Shepard."
Shepard: "Not likely. At least I got an art book."

He never complains about the Alliance. His opinion that the Council were being stupid and hiding from the facts perfectly mirrors what everyone else is thinking, he's just saying it.
Haven't played KOTOR yet, but I'm advised that Carth was one of the best characters in it, so I'm looking forward to it.

Does it really matter if he's just saying it? Still complaining, last thing I really want to hear is my own thoughts in a whiny voice.<_<

And...this is different to Garrus mentioning that he doesn't see the point in letting regulations get in the way of the job? Or Tali talking about exterminating the geth in ME2? It's a character voicing HIS opinion, and it adds to the game. The voice isn't bad either.

I can tolerate the complaints in small limited doses(Even then it can be annoying); but it seemed Carth always had soemthing he didn't like. I'm not exactly asking for another Jacob and his desire to spill some dranks on the citadel; but it'd be nice to walk up and not here him sad or upset ALL the time.

...I'm not getting this at all. With Kaidan, you can even discuss Liara, and the 'Blue Alien Space Babes' phenomenon. The only time you'll find him upset is after the Council has majorly screwed you over and after you leave Ashley to die.

Probably because I'm overly sensitive to complaints, and you're overly oblivious to his complaints. Together, we may make a normal person

I once wrote a report for a kid in my cadets section who complained all the time. For him, complaining was a coping mechanism. He got his stuff done regardless of what was going on, he just liked to b!tch about it. Kaidan's no where near as bad as him.
