Now I see the problem. Quarians making the geth is the problem. Well we can fix that.

So you've discovered how to change mass into tachyons and go back in time to stop the Quarians.  Bravo.

Everything is inevitably Quarian's fault, it would seem. That the Geth still maintain a "shoot on sight" philosophy with anyone and everyone who crosses into their space is because, you know, the Quarians tried to shut them all down that one time. They just need hugs! As long as you don't actually try to hug them. Then they'd shoot you. Quarian's fault, though.

This is some amazing "original sin" style thinking, here.

The geth already determined that anyone that does not interfere with their future will not be harmed.  Their goal is to reach complete unity and not to take over the galaxy, if they were left alone then they would not attack anyone.

Again, the quarians knew the risk of creating a new living species.   Artificial intelligence is a touchy subject since it develops on its own lines.

The geth are an actual race, they're not just robots.

The geth attack anyone who enters geth space. That's not peaceful.

The quarians did not intentionally make the geth sentient.

And yes, they are robots. Albeit malfunctioning ones.

they attack quarians who attacked them first

the didnt intentionally, but they knew the risks

they are robots, sentient ones

They are evolving sentients.  They only attack thoe who enter because they feel that their path to their ultimatum which is complete unity.  Any other species threatens that so they are forced to get rid of them.

The meaning of my post is that you're suggesting time travel to the past, which isn't present in the ME universe.

Anyway we should stop this fight. It will just get the thread locked. How can we make peace in the galaxy while we can't make peace in a forum.

Difference of prespective is a prerequisite when talking about indivuduality. They tie in to each other.

They tie in, but perspective isn't all of individuality. You just can't have unique data and be deemed "individualistic". At least not by Legion's terms, who is by the way the Geth.

Yeah. Around these parts we like to call that "crimes against humanity".

It doesn't exactly faciliate a peace process with the Quarians, either.

How do you know everyone who entered geth space was a threat?

We need to find Dr. Emmett Brown's dsecendant and have him recreate the flux capacitor. Then we can stop the quarians from ever creating the geth.

The geth precieve anyone who enters as a possible threat to their unification, I don't precieve them as a threat.  From the geth standpoint wouldn't they see it as anyone who disrupts them is preventing their goal of unification, so just kill them to be safe.

And how is someone entering their space not a crime against geth.  The geth are seeking unification and to achieve that they need isolation.

Solution: leave the geth alone to reach their goal.  Too many conversation going on at once.

Whatever happened in the past seems irrelevant to me. Fact is, the Geth are open to peace right now. The Quarians as a whole are not. The ball is in the Quarian's court.

I personally think there are too many phobias and stigmas for the Geth/Quarians to overcome, but it takes two to tango especially in peace talks. Both sides are guilty of atrocities. Both are going to have to sacrifice to gain peace.

I realistically don't see it happening (JMO). However I wouldn't be surprised if BioWare writes a puppies and sunshine ending to the Quarian/Geth conflict.

The geth precieve anyone who enters as a possible threat to their unification, I don't precieve them as a threat. From the geth standpoint wouldn't they see it as anyone who disrupts them is preventing their goal of unification, so just kill them to be safe.

The "heretics" didn't fit in with their goals, and they let them go and ignored them until they began to attack the "true" Geth. The Geth are naive/ignorant, but they can distinguish harmless and harmful.

the geth are like a cranky old guy w/ a shotgun on his porch, he warns the hoodlums to stay off but they dont, so he shoots him
extreme, yes
deserved, maybe
but they were warned and its his property

And so they attack and destroy unarmed diplomatic ships and anyone who strays too close? Ok.
