[So sorry if this isn't in the right string, has been answered somewhere else, etc., but every time I try to "contact us" I get stuck in a loop. I get no help what so ever].

Put simply: Near the begining of the game (DAO) when you first meet Alistair and he and the other Grey Wardens join you on the 2-part quest in the Korcari Wilds.... it doesn't work. Alistair is NOT part of my party, the other guys (Jory and Daveth) don't fight, and Alistair talks out of invisible thin air during cutscenes. Add to that, I get a level up indication and cannot level up EVEN after fighting through that entire first section of the game and returning to Duncan.

Note: This has happened with 3 different characters. Level-up and automatic combat are completely locked out because Alistair doesn't appear with my party.

The game is completely broken and unplayable if I can't level up after the first 40 minutes of gameplay.

What's up? Anyone?
Thanks

This belongs in the spoiler forum.

[Edit]
Or possibly tech support. Fortunately I had the discipline to not read your post.

Is not the forums, anyway, I reply

Same happened to me yesterday (same exact thing). Have you been playing with the toolset? ;)

In that case, go to MyDocuments/Bioware/DragonAge/modules/Single Player and delete it

Then go to MyDocuments/Bioware/DragonAge/modules/packages/core/override and delete it too.

then, start the game again and load a savegame when entering at Orzammar,

Qkrch,  THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! That worked!
So, let me guess, and a thousand apologies for being a "spoiler" earlier, messing around with the Toolset will screw up things in the regular game, huh? Or was that just because I prematurely stopped a toolset download?

Anyway, I can't thank you enough. That was an easy fix... and it worked! I appreciate you getting back to me.

There's a bug in the toolset, if you open the campaign (just to take a look).. some of the temp files will drop in your override, there's an option in the toolset "Empty directories" that should prevent you from it...

But is beeing a common issue, that famous "The toolset broke my game" sticky, althought it should be only one post and not 300 posts and the mess of complaints, that way people can't find the fix.

So is not your fault!
